JoSAA 2026 में PwD candidates के लिए certificate और verification process बहुत sensitive है. सिर्फ disability certificate होना enough नहीं है. Certificate सही format में होना चाहिए, disability percentage clear होना चाहिए, issuing authority proper होनी चाहिए और जहां physical verification required है, वहां candidate को time पर process complete करना होगा.

कई students यह सोचते हैं कि “मेरे पास disability certificate है, इसलिए PwD category benefit मिल जाएगा.” Counselling में यह सोच risky है.

JoSAA में PwD benefit practical तभी काम करता है जब candidate का category tag, certificate, UDID, disability status, verification और choice filling सभी official rules के अनुसार match करें.

JoSAA 2026 में PwD Category का Meaning

PwD का मतलब है Person with Benchmark Disability. JoSAA में PwD candidates के लिए अलग category tags बनते हैं.

इसका practical मतलब यह है कि PwD कोई अलग main caste/category नहीं है. यह candidate की base category के साथ जुड़ा हुआ disability-based tag है.

SC + PwD = SC-PwD

Benchmark Disability Concept क्या है?

JoSAA Business Rules में PwD को RPwD Act 2016 के अनुसार Person with Benchmark Disability/Disabilities के रूप में refer किया गया है.

Simple भाषा में समझिए:
हर disability certificate automatically JoSAA PwD seat benefit नहीं देता. Candidate को benchmark disability requirement satisfy करनी होती है और valid PwD certificate या valid UDID card produce करना होता है.

Counselling में disability percentage बहुत important है, क्योंकि PwD tag और PwD seat consideration इसी verification पर depend करेगा.

PwD Certificate कौन Issue करता है?

PwD certificate medical authority द्वारा issue किया जाता है. JoSAA certificate formats में “Name and Address of the Medical Authority issuing the Certificate” clearly mentioned होता है.

FORM-PwD II, III और IV का Basic Explanation

JoSAA 2026 Certificate Formats में PwD के लिए अलग-अलग forms available हैं. Candidate को अपनी disability type के अनुसार relevant form check करना चाहिए.

FORM-PwD II

FORM-PwD III

यह form multiple disabilities के cases के लिए होता है. इसमें अलग-अलग disabilities का affected body part, diagnosis और percentage mention किया जाता है. Overall permanent physical impairment percentage figures और words में लिखा जाता है.

FORM-PwD IV

यह form उन cases के लिए होता है जो FORM-II और FORM-III में cover नहीं होते. इसमें relevant disability table, diagnosis, impairment percentage, reassessment और countersignature जैसे points important होते हैं.

Disability Percentage क्यों Important है?

PwD category में disability percentage सिर्फ medical detail नहीं है. यह counselling eligibility और PwD tag assignment का core point है.

Certificate में percentage:

Clear visible होना चाहिए
Figures और words में लिखा होना चाहिए, जहां format में required हो
Relevant disability के सामने mention होना चाहिए
Overall impairment, जहां applicable हो, clearly लिखा होना चाहिए
Medical authority seal/signature के साथ certified होना चाहिए

अगर certificate में percentage blank है, unclear है या scan में दिखाई नहीं दे रहा, तो verification issue बन सकता है.

Permanent vs Temporary Disability और Reassessment Validity

PwD certificate में condition को usually इन terms में mark किया जाता है:

Likely to improve

FORM-PwD III और IV में reassessment का section भी होता है:

Practical Meaning

Permanent disability का मतलब यह नहीं कि certificate detail casually upload कर दी जाए. Valid certificate, proper format और readable scan फिर भी जरूरी है.

Non-Government Medical Authority Certificate और Countersignature Issue

FORM-PwD IV में साफ format-level caution है कि अगर certificate ऐसी medical authority ने issue किया है जो government servant नहीं है, तो certificate को Chief Medical Officer of the District द्वारा countersigned होना चाहिए.

इसलिए candidate को यह check करना चाहिए:

Certificate government medical authority से है या नहीं
अगर non-government authority से है, तो CMO/Medical Superintendent/Head of Government Hospital countersignature है या नहीं
Seal clear है या नहीं
Countersignature missing तो नहीं है
Certificate readable scan में है या नहीं

यह छोटी technical mistake seat reporting में बड़ा risk बना देती है.

UDID Card का Role क्या है?

UDID का full form है Unique Disability ID. JoSAA rules के अनुसार valid UDID card indicating disability रखने वाले candidates को कुछ cases में physical verification से छूट मिलती है.

लेकिन दो cautions समझना जरूरी है:

UDID online verification fail होने पर physical verification required रहेगा
NIT+ system में special restrictions वाले academic program में allotment होने पर physical verification required रहेगा

इसलिए UDID card होने का मतलब यह नहीं कि candidate को portal check नहीं करना है. JoSAA login, verification status और reporting instructions daily monitor करने होंगे.

JoSAA 2026 PwD Physical Verification

PwD verification process IIT/IISc और NIT+ System के लिए अलग practical route में चल सकता है.

IITs/IISc के लिए

JEE Advanced qualified PwD candidates, जिनके पास valid UDID card indicating disability नहीं है या जिनका UDID verification fail हो जाता है, उन्हें physical verification की जरूरत पड़ सकती है.

Candidate को JoSAA portal पर available option के अनुसार IIT/IISc verification centre, date और time select करना होगा.

NIT+ System के लिए

JEE Main qualified PwD candidates, जिनके पास valid UDID card indicating disability नहीं है, उन्हें NIT+ System verification centre पर physical verification के लिए जाना होगा.

अगर UDID online verification fail हो जाता है, तो candidate को selected verification centre पर physical verification के लिए जाना होगा.

Verification Deadline Miss करने का Risk

PwD candidates के लिए verification delay बहुत risky है. JoSAA rules में physical verification process first day of choice filling से शुरू होता है और counselling rounds तक चलता है.

जहां verification required है, candidate को allotted counselling round के end तक process complete करना होता है. Failure की स्थिति में allocated seat cancel होगी.

Round 1 में candidate को OPEN-PwD category seat allot हो गई.
