The first round of the counselling is also the most important and competitive round, and only a candidate who has passed the JEE Main 2026 exam and holds a domicile in Uttar Pradesh or has completed their studies in Uttar Pradesh is allowed to participate in this round of counselling.
All the procedures related to this round of counselling are performed on https://uptac.samarth.edu.in and the registration window in this round was available only once and can not be reopened in any of the Round 2, Round 3 and Round 4 of the counselling.

Key Activities in Round 1 and How They Work
Registration (25th May to 15th June 2026): Visit https://uptac.samarth.edu.in to create account, verify mandatory APAAR ID via DigiLocker, provide personal and academic information, upload documents, and enter JEE Application Number for automatic fetching of rank, then pay 1,000 as registration fees. This is only registration for the normal rounds.
Document Verification (28th May to 20th June 2026): Documents provided are uploaded and verified online by AKTU; all discrepancies are to be addressed by 20 th June 2026. Direct document verification possible via APAAR integration and DigiLocker.
Choice Filling (22–25 June 2026): Log in, access the seat matrix (available by 15 June), fill 25 to 35 college-branch combinations in priority order, and lock before 25 June 2026. The allotment system processes only locked preferences. Placing ambitious choices at the top is safe, the system moves to the next preference automatically if a higher one is unavailable.
Round 1 Allotment (27th June 2026): Seat allocated according to JEE Main 2026 rank, choice combination and category-wise seats; allotment letter to be downloaded from dashboard.
Seat Confirmation + Freeze/Float (27-29th June 2026): Pay 20,000 or 12,000 and ‘freeze’ (confirm seat) or ‘float’ (allow attempt to upgrade in Rnd2) by 29 th June 2026. Those who ‘float’ to participate in Round 2 choice filing (30 th June to 1 st July); Round 3 (6-7 th July) is the last editing round for choices.
Physical Reporting: All freeze candidates (from any round) report to the allotted college during 14–16 July 2026 with original documents.
