Karnataka NEET UG Counselling 2025 Process

Counselling for admission in MBBS course in Karnataka will be conducted by two different authorities. Admission in Government Medical Colleges will be conducted by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) for 85% state quota seats in government medical colleges and 100% MBBS seats in Private Medical Colleges. However, counselling for remaining 15% seat in government medical colleges will be conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). 

Counselling Registration for State Quota Seats

Step 1: Online Registration

  • Visit http://kea.kar.nic.in and select “UGNEET-2025 Online Registration”.
  • Enter all your details carefully and accurately.

Step 2: Login and Details Entry

  • Use your User ID and Password to log in.
  • Enter your details stage-by-stage, ensuring everything is correct.

Step 3: Uploading Documents: Upload scanned copies

  • Recent passport-size color photograph (JPG/JPEG)

Step 1: Registration

Step 3:  Option Entry (After seat matrix release)

  • This is where your strategic thinking comes in! After the seat matrix is released, head back to http://kea.kar.nic.in: to enter your options.
  • Carefully choose the colleges and courses you desire, prioritizing them based on your preferences and eligibility. Remember, you can edit and add options until the deadline, so utilize this flexibility wisely.

Step 4: Seat Allotment:

The seat allotment process for Karnataka NEET Counselling 2025 will be conducted in three phases:

  • Phase 1: This phase will focus on allotting seats to candidates belonging to special categories such as Persons with Disabilities (PWD), NCC, and Sports quota. It will be followed by the allotment of seats to General Merit candidates.
  • Phase 2: This phase will be exclusive to reserved category candidates.
  • Phase 3: This phase will be open to all categories, including General Merit and remaining reserved seats.

The seat allotment will be purely based on your NEET rank and the options you entered during the option entry process. A mock allotment will be conducted before the actual allotment to help you assess your chances and revise your options if needed.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to the seat allotment process:

Check the seat allotment result: The seat allotment result will be declared on the KEA website on the dates specified for each phase.

  • Download your allotment letter: If you are allotted a seat, download your allotment letter from the KEA website.
  • Pay the seat acceptance fee: Pay the seat acceptance fee online within the stipulated timeframe. This fee varies depending on your category.
  • Report to the allotted college: After paying the seat acceptance fee, report to the allotted college with all the required documents within the specified deadline. The list of required documents will be available on the KEA website.

Step 5: Reporting to Colleges:

Once you are allotted a seat in a college, you must report to the college in person within the stipulated deadline to confirm your admission. Here’s what you need to do during the reporting process:

  • Carry all required documents: Make sure you carry all the required documents, including your allotment letter, admit card, mark sheet, caste certificate (if applicable), medical fitness certificate, and any other documents specified by the college.
  • Document verification: The college will verify your documents and original certificates.
  • Pay the admission fee: Pay the admission fee as prescribed by the college.
  • Complete the admission formalities: Complete all the admission formalities as required by the college.

Registration and Counselling Process for State Quota Seats

Follow these steps to successfully complete the registration process for Karnataka NEET PG 2025:

Visit to the official Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) website (kea.kar.nic.in).

  • The candidate creates a profile by entering necessary details along with their NEET-PG 2024 / NEET MDS 2024 Roll Number.
  • Candidate information such as name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, NBE Score, and mobile number is fetched from NBE data.
  • An OTP is sent to the candidate’s mobile number registered with NBE. The candidate should not share the OTP.
  • The candidate enters eligibility clause codes, reservation category, educational qualification, and contact details.
  • Those eligible under the In-service category must indicate the same.
  • Upload the photograph, left thumb impression, and signature.
  • The candidate is required to pay the registration fee following the specified procedure.
  • After completing the above steps, the candidate can print and submit the application form.

Important Notes:

8. Bond and Service Obligation

  • Candidates who opt for Government Quota seats must submit an undertaking to serve the Government for a minimum period after completion of their studies.
  • In-service candidates must submit a bond to serve the Government for 10 years.
  • If the candidate fails to serve the Government, a hefty penalty (₹50,00,000 for PG Medical Degree) is imposed.

9. Post-Admission Process

  • Certificate from the Head of Institute – Certifying that the Medical/Dental College from which the candidate has passed the MBBS/BDS examination is recognized by MCI/DCI.
  • State / Central Medical / Dental Council Registration Certificate – Provisional registration certificate will be accepted only for candidates who passed MBBS/BDS in 2025. Permanent State/Central Medical/Dental Council Registration Certificate must be submitted at the time of the admission process. (Candidates who passed before 2025 must submit the Original Permanent Registration Certificate).
