JMI Law Entrance Exam 2021 is a national Level Entrance Examination which is conducted every year by Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) to take admissions in its undergraduate and postgraduate law programs.The undergraduate programs for which admissions are granted through JMI Law Entrance Exam are B.A. LL.B. (Hons.)/B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) (Self-financed) and the postgraduate programs granted through JMI Law Entrance Exam 2021 are L.L.M. and L.L.M. (Executive) (Self-financed) Weekend Programme.

About Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI):

The Faculty of Law, Jamia Millia Islamia was incepted in 1989.Faculty introduced a five year integrated B.A., LL.B (Hons.) Programme from the academic session 2002-2003 by replacing the three years LL.B. Course; a two year Post-graduate Programme (LL.M.) in three specialized streams of Personal Laws, Corporate Laws and Criminal Laws and a Ph.D. programme. The Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has got NAAC Accreditation (Grade ‘A’). The University has also been ranked 6 for Law by Outlook 2019.

Eligibility for JMI Law Entrance Exam 2021:

B.A. LL.B. (Hons.)/B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) (Self-financed)

  • Candidates who want to study B.A. LL.B. (Hons.)/B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) (Self-financed) must have passed 12th with minimum 50% from a recognized board.

LLM

  • Candidates who want to study masters in Law course must have completed the LLB programme from any recognized institute(other institute than Jamia Millia Islamia have to prove that the institute is recognized with the Association of Indian Universities) with at least 50% marks in their LLB.

JMI Law Entrance Exam 2021: Exam Pattern

B.A. LL.B. (Hons.)/B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) (Self-financed)

Duration = 3 hrs.

Maximum marks = 150

Negative marking = yes

Number of multiple choice questions = 100

Topics:

  1. Legal language English including comprehension = 30 marks
  2. Current affairs = 30 marks
  3. Legal aptitude = 40 marks
  4. General studies = 40 marks
  5. Numerical ability = 10 marks

LLM

Duration = 3 hrs.

Maximum marks = 140 objective, 10 descriptive (6 to be answered)

Negative marking = yes (no in descriptive)

Part 1:

General knowledge and current affairs = 40 questions of 40 marks

Legal subjects = 100 questions of 100 marks

Descriptive questions on law subjects = 10 questions of 10 marks each, from which 6 have to answered.

L.L.M. (Executive) (Self-financed) Weekend Programme

Duration = 2 hrs. and 30 min.

Maximum marks = 150

Negative marking = yes

Part A: Law subjects= 90 questions of 1 mark each

Part B: Subjective questions from law subjects especially procedural law and contemporary legal issues = 3 questions to be answered out of 5, of total 60 marks.

JMI Law Entrance Exam 2021: Detailed Application Process

  • Before applying online, Scanned copy recent photograph and signature in JPEG format in the permissible size.
  • Candidates seeking admission to Jamia Milia Islamia (JMI) can apply online at JMI’s official website.
  • Candidates can then register by filling name, phone number, email address, and date of birth.
  • Candidates can now fill in the following details asked in the registration form after logging in with the username (Email ID) and OTP.
  • Candidate can pay the application fee only online using Credit Card/Debit Card/Net banking.
  • Candidates should Logout once the registration process is complete.
