Cochin University Common Admission Test 2021 is a national Level Examination which is conducted every year by Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) to take admissions in its undergraduate programs. The undergraduate programs for which admissions are granted through Cochin University Common Admission Test 2021 include B.Tech, Integrated M.Sc., LLB and Dual Degree Programs. Cochin University of Science and Technology(CUSAT) were established in the year 1971 andwere initially named as University of Cochin. It was later renamed as Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) in 1986.The University is all about prosecuting research in applied science, commerce, management, technology, industry, and social science to generate skilled professionals who can give back to the society in some form or the other by their theoretical and practical knowledge.

Eligibility for Cochin University Common Admission Test 2021:

B.Tech. Regular

• Candidates should have 10+2 or equivalent degree from a recognized University with minimum 50% marks in aggregate in the subjects Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) along with the 50% marks in each of these subjects.
• For Marine Engineering, the candidates should have at least 60% marks in PCM and 50% in Mathematics.

Integrated M.Sc.

• Candidates must have 10+2 awarded by the State of Kerala with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as the optional Subject with minimum 50% marks in Mathematics along with a minimum 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics put together.

LLB

• Candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 55% marks in aggregate from a CUSAT recognized university.
• If the candidates are State Government/Central Government permanent employees, they have to provide the NOC from the employer.
• Candidates should be working in the 30Km radius of the Thrikkakara Campus of CUSAT if they are are State Government/Central Government permanent employees.

LLM

• Candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 55% marks from a university of Kerala or an equivalent degree from a CUSAT recognized university.

Cochin University Common Admission Test 2021: Exam-Pattern

Cochin University Common Admission Test 2021 consists of the 150 objective type questions based on the sections:

• general knowledge,
• aptitude,
• logic and reasoning.

The paper is further divided into:

Part 1

Law field– total 25 questions

Reasoning/Logical Thinking – total 50 questions

Part 2

English – total 50 questions

GK/Current Affairs – total 25 questions

The admission to LLB program of the University is based on the rank achieved in the Cochin University Common Admission Test 2021. The candidates need to clear the next two stages as well which are – group discussion and interview.

Weightage Criteria deciding the rank:

• Part 1 of CAT – 25%
• Part 2 of CAT – 25%
• Group Discussion – 30%
• Interview – 20%

Cochin University Common Admission Test 2021 consists of the objective type questions based on the sections:

Section 1

• English and General Knowledge.
• Analytical and Logical reasoning and aptitude to do research.

Section 2

• Compulsory papers in Law as prescribed by the Bar Council of India.

• Before applying online, Scanned copy recent photograph and signature in JPEG format in the permissible size.

• Candidates can then register by filling name, phone number, email address, and date of birth.
• Candidates can select the registration criteria as applicable in the “You are registering for section”.
• Candidates can then select a security question from the Security Question dropdown list and enter its answer in the Answer section
• Candidates can now fill in the following details asked in the registration form after logging in with the username (Email ID) and OTP.
• Candidates can pay the application fee only online using Credit Card/Debit Card/Net banking.
• Candidates should Logout once the registration process is complete.
