Why Each Last Date in AKTU Counselling Matters
It is convenient to think of registration date and believe everything else falls in place automatically, but AKTU Counselling 2026 is a multistage process and all these stages hold equal importance.
Registration Last Date is the most fundamental. This is the final day to submit your online application and pay the ₹1,000 non-refundable registration fee at https://uptac.admissions.nic.in. No offline or late registrations are accepted. Candidates whose qualifying exam results are not declared by this date are also ineligible, waiting for a pending result is not a valid reason for late registration.
Choice Filling Last Date determines your seat allotment outcome. After registering, you get a window to fill and lock your preferred college-branch combinations. If you miss locking your choices before the last date, the system has nothing to process — and you receive no allotment for that round.
Round 1 Reporting Last Date is the deadline by which you must physically report to the allotted college with all original documents. This step is mandatory. Candidates who receive a seat allotment but do not report within the deadline lose their seat permanently, and the fee paid is not refunded under any circumstance.
Round 2 Reporting Last Date follows the same logic. If you upgrade your seat in Round 2, you must report within this window. Your Round 1 seat is automatically vacated once a Round 2 seat is allotted, there is no going back if you miss the Round 2 reporting deadline.
Special Round Reporting Last Date is the last and final deadline in the UPTAC 2026 calendar. After this, no further counselling is conducted and remaining vacant seats are not reallocated.
Consequences of Missing Any Last Date
Missing the registration last date means complete exclusion from all rounds of UPTAC 2026 including the special round. There is no mercy window, no appeal process, and no exception. The Information Brochure explicitly places the entire responsibility for timely registration on the candidate.
Missing the choice filling deadline means no allotment in that particular round, though you may still participate in subsequent rounds if you were registered on time.
Missing the reporting deadline is the most costly mistake, you lose your allotted seat, and the fee paid after allotment is forfeited with no refund.
