Eligibility for UPTAC B.Tech Counselling 2026
Candidates seeking registration in UPTAC 2026 B.Tech counselling have to satisfy the following criteria:
- Entrance Exam- JEE Main 2026 is the entrance exam for B.Tech first year and for special roundCUET UG 2026 scores are accepted.
- Education eligibility- Candidates need to have cleared Class 12th (10+2) with physics, chemistry and mathematics and obtained 45% (general) & 40% (SC/ST).
- Domicile- UP domiciled student or the candidate studied in UP is eligible for all rounds. Outside UP student is eligible only for Special round.
- No Age limit for admission- There is no restriction on the age for eligibility.
Lateral Entry B.Tech Registration
Diploma holders and B.Sc. graduates can also register for direct admission to the second year of B.Tech under the lateral entry scheme. For lateral entry:
- Diploma candidates must have passed a minimum three-year or two-year (lateral entry) Diploma in Engineering with at least 45% marks (40% for SC/ST) from a BTEUP-recognised institution
- B.Sc. graduates must have passed with at least 45% marks and must have studied Mathematics at Class 12 level
- B.Sc. lateral entry candidates are considered only after Diploma seats are filled
- Lateral entry seats are capped at 10% of the previous year’s sanctioned intake
