UPTAC choice filling start date for Round 1 is 22 June 2026. The choice filling will commence and terminate on the dates that are provided as 22 June and 25 June 2026 as stated in the timetable by AKTU and allows every registered B.Tech candidate to fill and lock the choices of preferred colleges and branches over the web through the portal at https://uptac.samarth.edu.in for 4 days. Round 1 seat allotment will take place on 27 June 2026.

All registered candidates get seven days after the last day of application registration (15 th June 2026) to choose their desired colleges and branch combinations till June 22 nd 2026. A smart candidate would spend these seven days research on the colleges of his choice, find the cut-offs and prepare a final list of preferred colleges.

What Becomes Available on the Choice Filling Start Date

On 22 June 2026, when the choice filling window opens on the UPTAC portal:

Seat Matrix is live: The official seat matrix subject to availability by 15 June 2026 as per the schedule, shows exact seats available by college, branch, and category. This is the most important document for choice filling. Before adding any college-branch combination to your preference list, verify that seats are available in your category.

Choice filling portal is active: Log in at https://uptac.samarth.edu.in using your Application Form Number and password. The choice filling section goes live, allowing you to search, add, rearrange, and lock preferences.

Previous year cutoffs for reference: Although not released newly on this day but the 2024 and 2025 round wise cut off PDFs already uploaded in the portal serve as the major decision maker while selecting a choice within bounds of realism.

How to Fill and Lock Choices from 22 June 2026

Step 1: Log in to https://uptac.samarth.edu.in using your application form number and password.

Step 2: Check the seat matrix and identify colleges and branches where there is a vacancy for your category.

Step 3: Search for college-branch combinations and add them according to your preference, the one you want most should be added first and the rest will be arranged in decreasing order.

Step 4: Compare each of your preferences with the closing ranks of previous year and ensure your choices are realistically too ranked. A rank that is consistently more than previous year closing ranks of a college-branch-category is too ambitious for your first few choices.

Step 5: Verify and reorder your full list to truly reflect your priorities.

Step 6: Click Lock Choices before 25 June 2026. Confirm the lock is applied and download the confirmation page immediately.

The allotment system processes only locked preferences. Filling choices without locking is equivalent to not filling them at all.
