Understanding the Schedule Structure
UPTAC 2026 schedule is structured across three phases. The first phase (Rounds 1–4) is exclusively for JEE Main qualified UP candidates. Registration is a one-time window, not available in Rounds 2, 3, or 4. Round 3 (6–7 July) is the final choice editing window, with those preferences applying to Round 4 and internal sliding as well. Round 4 auto-freezes all candidates on 11 July.
The second phase – Round 5 (Internal Sliding) applies only to physically reported candidates. Allotment within the same institute for vacant seats occurs on 18 July.
The third phase – Special Rounds 1 and 2 opens to a broader set of candidates including new registrants and OSGE category (outside UP, non-UP domicile parents) who are ineligible for regular rounds. Special Round fees are ₹20,000 with no refund. The process concludes on 3 August 2026 with Special Round 2 physical reporting.
