Puducherry NEET PG Counselling 2026 is the admission process for MD and MS seats in the Union Territory, based on the NEET PG 2026 score and rank. The Centralised Admission Committee (CENTAC), under the Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, conducts it online at www.centacpuducherry.in. CENTAC fills 50% of the seats in the government college, along with all Government Quota and Management Quota seats in the three private colleges.
Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts its own counselling for the 50% All India Quota seats surrendered by government colleges, central institutions and deemed universities. The UT has four participating colleges and 395 MD/MS seats in total.
Online applications started on 20/10/2026 and it will end on 27/10/2026 at 5.00 pm. Candidates can apply for Government Quota, Management Quota or both through a single application.

Puducherry NEET PG Counselling 2026 Quotas
The UT follows a simple structure. Government seats are reserved for residents. Management seats are open to candidates from all states, apart from the Telugu Minority seats.

- All India Quota (AIQ): MCC fills the 50% AIQ seats through the DGHS. In Puducherry, 37 seats at IGMCRI (21 clinical and 16 non-clinical) go to AIQ. MCC also fills seats in central institutions and deemed universities.
- Government Quota: CENTAC fills the other 50% of seats in IGMCRI. It also fills all Government Quota seats in the three private colleges.
- Management Quota: These seats in PIMS and SMVMCH are open to all candidates from Round 1, based on NEET PG 2026 rank.
- Telugu Minority seats: Candidates need a Transfer Certificate showing Telugu as the mother tongue. If it is not mentioned, they must submit the prescribed minority certificate. These seats are offered in Rounds 1, 2 and 3 only to eligible residents. In Round 3, any unfilled MQT seat is converted to Management Quota (AGE) in the same round. Both MQT and MQ choices are open in SVMCH&RC in Round 3.
Candidates who join an All India Quota seat through MCC are removed from the Round 3 list of CENTAC, because they cannot resign that seat.

Eligibility depends on NEET PG 2026, MBBS qualification, internship and the quota applied for.

Important conditions:
- Foreign medical graduates (Indian citizens or OCI) must have passed the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination, hold registration and have completed internship by 30/09/2026.
- A candidate with a PG degree cannot apply for another PG degree course. PG diploma holders can apply for a PG degree course.
- A candidate who does not join a seat allotted in the Stray Round is debarred from counselling for the next academic year.
- Candidates from other states are called “Other States” candidates. They can apply for Management Quota seats.
- If the NEET PG cutoff is lowered by MCC or MoHFW, fresh applications are invited.
Who counts as a Puducherry resident: A candidate qualifies by satisfying any one of these.
- The candidate or a parent has lived in Puducherry continuously for five years before the date of application.
- The candidate studied five successive classes in a recognised Puducherry institution before the qualifying exam and lived in the UT for those five years.
- The candidate is a child of natives who declared a place in Puducherry as home town, with a nativity certificate.
- The candidate is a child of defence or government personnel who were killed or disabled in action, or who died in service in Puducherry.
- The candidate is a French national covered by the Treaty of Cession, with a Certificate of Registration from the French Consulate.
- The candidate’s parents are central or UT government, defence, paramilitary or public sector employees serving in Puducherry for at least three continuous years, and the candidate studied two years of HSC in the same Puducherry school.
Dual nativity: A candidate eligible as a resident in Puducherry and in another state or UT must choose one. Applying for Government Quota in both leads to cancellation of admission, legal action and a ban from CENTAC counselling. Parents must submit an affidavit for this.
Puducherry NEET PG Counselling 2026 Reservation Policy
Reservation applies only to Government Quota seats. It is regional, so the percentage depends on the region of the candidate. Management Quota seats follow merit.

Puducherry NEET PG Counselling 2026 Counselling Process
Counselling follows MCC guidelines and has four online rounds: Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 and the Stray Round. These are the steps:
- Qualify NEET PG 2026.
- Register and apply online on www.centacpuducherry.in.
- Pay the application fee and upload documents.
- Submit course preferences.
- CENTAC verifies the application. Check the status on your dashboard.
- Check the Draft, Revised Draft and Final Merit Lists.
- For each round, check the seat matrix, submit willingness and fresh preferences. From Round 2, pay the round registration fee.
- Check the eligible list and the allotment list on the website.
- Download the allotment order.
- Pay the balance tuition fee online, as applicable.
- Report to the allotted college with documents and complete admission.
- Resign, upgrade or move to the next round as per the rules.
Only one seat is allotted to a candidate per round. Mutual transfer or individual request for a college change is not allowed.

Puducherry NEET PG Counselling 2026 Registration Process
Registration is online only. Physical applications are not accepted, and each candidate can submit only one application. Duplicate applications lead to rejection and cancellation of candidature.
- Visit www.centacpuducherry.in and click the PG Medical (M.D./M.S.) link.
- Register with a valid mobile number, email ID and a password of up to 6 characters. These cannot be changed later.
- Log in with your email ID and password. An OTP is sent to your mobile each time you log in.
- Fill in personal, NEET PG 2026 and academic details.
- Choose the quota: Government Quota, Management Quota or both. A quota cannot be added after the last date.
- Upload the required documents.
- Review the form using the Back option. Click Make Payment and pay the application fee.
- After payment, the dashboard opens for submitting course preferences.
- View and download the application form.

Puducherry NEET PG Counselling 2026 Choice Filling
Choice filling opens after the application fee is paid. Fresh choices are needed for every round, and earlier choices are treated as null and void.
- Select the colleges.
- Select the courses offered by those colleges.
- Arrange the courses from the highest to the lowest priority.
- Submit before the deadline of that round.
Important points to remember
- At least one preference is mandatory. No seat is allotted without it.
- Add as many choices as you can. This improves the chance of getting an alternate course or college.
- Choices can be edited until the last date. After that, the data is frozen and cannot be changed.
- Allotment follows the order of choices, seat availability, merit and reservation.
- The tuition fee structure excludes books, equipment, hostel, transport and food. Check these with the college before submitting choices.
- Choice filling dates are announced round-wise on the website.
Puducherry NEET PG Counselling 2026 Admission Process
After allotment, candidates download the allotment order from the dashboard and report to the college within the stated time. If a candidate does not report in time, the allotment is cancelled automatically. This applies to all rounds.
- Download the provisional allotment order.
- Pay the balance tuition fee online to CENTAC, as applicable.
- Report personally to the allotted college. No other person can complete admission on your behalf.
- Submit the printed application, allotment order, original certificates with self-attested copies and the college fee.
- Complete verification and admission formalities.
- Join the course.
Admission obtained with false information is cancelled without notice, fees are not refunded and legal action can follow.

Resignation rules:
- Round 1 admitted candidates can resign without forfeiture before Round 2.
- Round 1 or Round 2 admitted candidates can resign before Round 3 with forfeiture. After the last date, resignation is not allowed.
- Candidates admitted in Round 3 cannot resign.
- Submit the resignation letter online through the dashboard and a hard copy to the college. A No Objection Certificate is issued only after CENTAC approves.
- The date CENTAC receives the form is counted as the date of withdrawal.
