MP NEET Counselling 2026 Merit List Release Date

MP NEET Counselling 2026 Merit List is one of the most anxiously awaited steps in the entire Madhya Pradesh MBBS and BDS admission process. After you complete your registration on the DME MP portal, the next big milestone is the publication of the state merit list because this is what determines your actual rank among all candidates who have registered, and ultimately, which college you can realistically target.

A lot of students confuse their All India NEET Rank with their MP State Merit Rank. These are two completely different things. Your All India rank is generated by NTA based on your NEET score among all test-takers across India. Your MP State Merit Rank is generated by DME MP based on your NEET score among only those candidates who have successfully registered for the MP state counselling and it is this state rank that determines your seat allotment in MP.

This article covers everything you need to know, when the merit list comes out, how to check it, what it contains, and how previous years’ merit lists looked.

What is the MP NEET Counselling Merit List?

MP State Merit List is a category-wise and programme-wise ranking of all registered candidates prepared by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Madhya Pradesh. It is published on the official portal dme.mponline.gov.in after the registration window closes.

Category-wise (Horizontal) Reservation – All Medical/Dental Colleges:

CategoryReservation %Applicable Colleges
SC16%All Colleges
ST20%All Colleges
OBC14% (PG) / 27% (UG)All Colleges
EWS10%Government Colleges Only

How to Use the Merit List to Plan Your Choices

Once the merit list is published and you know your MP State Rank, use it strategically:

  • Note your rank in each category you are eligible for (overall rank with your specific category rank).
  • Look at previous years’ closing ranks for the colleges and categories relevant to you (use the tables above as a starting reference).
  • Identify colleges where your rank is:
  1. Comfortably within the closing rank will have High probability choices (put these first)
  2. Near the closing rank will have Medium probability choices (add these too)
  3. Beyond the closing rank will have Low probability but worth adding at the end
  • During choice filling, add ALL colleges you are okay with attending government and private both. The more choices you lock, the better your chances of getting something good.
  • Keep track of the MP NEET Counselling 2026 merit list for any updates, sometimes after objections, ranks can shift slightly.
