Medical Education Commission Entrance Examination is the abbreviation for MECEE. MECEE is a national level medical entrance examination conducted by Nepal Medical Education Board. MECEE provide opportunity to around thousands of students willing to do medical courses from most parts of the world. As since the cost of medical course in Nepal in not so much as compared to the most of European and South eastern countries of the World. There are number of Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses for which the Medical Education Board, Government of Nepal conducts the examination. There are 14 medical colleges in Nepal which are recognized by MCI (Medical Council of India).

MECEE UG Eligibility Criteria:

There are certain eligibility criteria that a candidate has to fulfil in order to take the MECEE UG test and for getting admission in a medical institution in Nepal.

  • A candidate must have cleared his/her 10+2 i.e. Senior Secondary education from a recognized board/university.
  • A candidate must secure 50% marks in Senior Secondary examination with a science background. There is a relaxation of 5% marks for the reserved category of the society.
  • A candidate must have a registration in Medical Council Board of their respective countries. The registration can be either be permanent or provisional.

MECEE PG 2021:

Due to the Global Pandemic the MECEE PG 2021 which is supposed to be held on October 13, 2021 was postponed and is taken in the first week of January, 2021. MECEE PG is a national level examination conducted by Nepal Medical Education Board. It is a CBT (Computer Based Test) which contains 200 questions carrying 1 mark each.

MECEE PG Eligibility Criteria:

There are some basic eligibility criteria for the students appearing for MECEE PG examination. Below mentioned are some eligibility measures that needs to ensured by the candidates in order to appear for MECEE PG exam:

  • From a recognized medical University the candidates must possess an MBBS degree or any other equivalent degree.
  • As per the Medical council rules the candidates appearing for MECEE PG must have completed the One year Rotatory internship after completing the MBBS.
  • A candidate must have a registration in Medical Council Board of their respective countries. The registration can be either is permanent or provisional.

MECEE UG Registration Process:

There are several steps that need to be followed for filling up the registration form:

  • The candidates must first register themselves by entering the basic details like name, date of birth, address, contact number, etc
  • The candidates have to then upload the below mentioned documents. They have to keep in mind that all the documents uploaded must be clearly visible and must be in prescribed format and file size

MECEE UG Documents needed to be uploaded:

  • Bank Deposition Slip/voucher
  • Recent passport sized photo not older than 6 months
  • Academic record
  • Medical Council Registration certificate
  • No Objection Certificate or release letter for Government Quota
  • Citizenship Certificate for Nepal residents and Passport or Adhaar for foreigners
  • Scanned copy of Candidates’ signature

MECEE UG Application Fees:

All the candidates living in Nepal must pay a sum of NPR 5000/- and NPR 8000/- for all the foreign candidates in the name of:

The candidate can pay by any mode of payment and the voucher number is to filled while filling up the application form.

MECEE Counselling :

The counselling starts just after the announcement of the result and the counselling is conducted by Nepal Medical Education Board. The qualified candidates were called for counselling as per their ranks and merit.

  • The candidates were called as per the schedule for various counselling rounds.
  • There are many rounds of counselling to fill in the total seats of the courses.
  • Candidates have to download the counselling letter from the official website and take it to the verification centre.
  • For downloading the counselling letter the candidates have to login via credentials provided to them at the time of application.
