First of all Academic session in B.E. at Kumaon Engineering College Dwarahat was started with 2 branches. So, these are CSE and ECE in the year 1991 with a well planned educational programme.

Because it is similar to the one followed at IITs and RECs/NITs of the country for the development of technology & engineering education facilities in the Kumaon Region.

Furthermore, at present, Kumaon Engineering College Dwarahat runs seven graduate engineering programmes.

However, these programs are Computer Science & Engineering, and Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Civil Engineering, and Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering as well as Biochemical Engineering. Also, there are another, three Postgraduate programmes i.e., probably,  Masters of Computer Applications, Master of Technology (M. Tech) in CSE and Mechanical departments.
