Registration for Jammu & Kashmir NEET Counselling 2026 is entirely online, on the official BOPEE portal, and is meant only for domicile candidates of J&K/Ladakh who have qualified NEET UG 2026. Here is the process:

  • Visit the official website: www.jkbopee.gov.in.
  • Register using your NEET UG 2026 roll number and other required details, within the notified registration window.
  • Upload the required documents online, as listed in the Documents Required section below.
  • Candidates opting for ASCOMS Hindu Minority (HM) or NRI seats must additionally upload the specific documents required for those categories, in the same registration window.
  • The Board checks and verifies the submitted documents through a constituted committee.
  • Based on verified documents, BOPEE prepares and publishes the Provisional UT Merit List (PUTML).
  • Candidates whose category or sub-category certificates are found deficient are given a further opportunity to clear the deficiency or represent an objection, up to a notified last date; thereafter, no application or objection is entertained.
  • Once the merit list is finalised, eligible candidates proceed to the separate choice-filling (Preference Form) step.

Candidates should not use mobile phones for registration or document upload, and should not wait until the last date to register, since admission to professional colleges is time-bound. The Board is not responsible for the genuineness of any certificate uploaded by a candidate; if a certificate is later found fake, the admission is cancelled at any stage.

Candidates who fail to make the online payment, due to any reason including a payment failure, shall under no circumstances be considered for allotment of a seat.

Fee once paid is non-refundable, and this Rs. 1,500 counselling fee is distinct from the separate tuition fee charged directly by the allotted Government or Private college after admission, which BOPEE has no role in fixing.

No under-process certificates are entertained at any stage. The cut-off date for validity of category certificates is the last date fixed for registration/document upload by BOPEE, and category certificates issued after this date are not accepted at all.

Choice Filling and Choice Locking Process

Choice filling in Jammu & Kashmir NEET UG Counselling 2026 is called filling up of the Online Preference Form, and it happens only after the Provisional Merit List is published.

  • Only candidates who figure in the Provisional/Final Merit List, having registered and cleared document scrutiny, are eligible to fill preferences.

  • Once satisfied with the preferences filled, the candidate must lock the choices and click the submit button to finalise them.
  • If a candidate neither deletes nor submits the filled preferences by the deadline, the Board treats these filled choices as automatically locked and submitted, and seat allotment proceeds accordingly; no grievance on this point is entertained later.
  • Candidates who have not submitted valid category certificates by the notified deficiency deadline are considered under the Open Merit Category at the time of seat allotment, if otherwise eligible; those who have not submitted valid sub-category certificates by the same deadline are considered in their respective main category.
  • Mere filling of online preferences does not confer any right to admission; a candidate is only provisionally selected, and eligibility is verified further by the concerned college/institution.
  • Upgradation and final rounds, if held, follow the same choice-filling and locking procedure as described above, as may be amended by the Board depending on seat availability and other factors.
