Delhi NEET Counselling 2026 Merit List is something you need to understand clearly, if you have appeared in NEET UG 2026 and are planning to apply for MBBS or BDS seats in Delhi. A lot of students confuse this with a separate list published by the University but that is not how it works.
The University of Delhi does not publish a separate merit list for Delhi NEET Counselling. The merit list and seat allotment are entirely managed by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), DGHS, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.
Your rank on the merit list will depend upon Your NEET UG 2026 rank, marks, category (General, SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwBD, CW) and quota (85% Delhi Quota/15% All India Quota)
Delhi University’s intervention will happen once the MCC allocates you admission in one of the colleges affiliated to it. Till that time, everything else is done by MCC.
Has the Delhi NEET Counselling 2026 Merit List Been Released?
As of now, the Delhi NEET Counselling 2026 Merit List has not been released. It will be published by MCC on their official portal after NEET UG 2026 results are declared and the counselling process begins.
The release of the merit list depends directly on:
- Declaration of NEET UG 2026 results by NTA
- Completion of any legal or administrative proceedings related to NEET UG 2026
- Commencement of MCC UG Counselling 2026
Once released, it will be available at mcc.nic.in.
How Is the Merit List Prepared?
Delhi NEET Counselling 2026 Merit List is prepared separately for each Quota and Category. How it is done:
- For 85% Delhi Quota: Candidates who have studied 11th & 12th Classes in a School situated within the NCT of Delhi alone are considered eligible for preparation of merit list. Within such candidates, ranking of candidates is done according to category wise NEET UG 2026 marks/percentile.
- For 15% All India Quota: All eligible NEET UG 2026 candidates across India are taken into consideration. This list would be more comprehensive.
- Category-wise Ranking: Separate merit list for each of the below categories – General, SC, ST, OBC(NCL), EWS, PwBD and CW, within each quota is prepared.
- In case of tie between any two candidates having same NEET UG 2026 marks: In such cases, NTA’s tie breaker will be applicable where marks of Biology & Chemistry, ratio of correct to wrong answers and age factor are taken into account.

Category-Wise Seat Reservation You Should Know
Understanding reservation categories helps you know where you stand in the merit list. Here is the reservation structure for Delhi NEET Counselling 2026:
| Category | Reservation Percentage |
| Scheduled Caste (SC) | 15% |
| Scheduled Tribe (ST) | 7.5% |
| Other Backward Classes – Non-Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL) | 27% |
| Economically Weaker Section (EWS) | 10% |
| Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) | 5% (horizontal reservation) |
| Armed Forces / Children of War Widows (CW) | 5% (horizontal reservation) |
| Unreserved / General | Remaining seats |
Horizontal reservations like PwBD and CW are applied across all vertical categories. So a PwBD-OBC candidate is counted within the OBC seats, not separately.

Tips to Strengthen Your Position in the Merit List
Although the merit list is prepared on the basis of your NEET UG 2026 rank, here are a few things that you can do to optimize your position:
- Ensure right application in category: Ensure that your category certificate is valid and from the right issuing body. Otherwise, an invalid certificate might shift your category from reserved to the general one, which may adversely affect your chances.
- Eligibility for Delhi Quota: In case you have studied classes 11 & 12 in Delhi, always choose the Delhi Quota option as the competition level is much lesser here than the All India Quota option.
- Never neglect lower preference colleges: Fill up all the college options in your preference list. Although you may wish to take admission in MAMC, opting for UCMS/MAIDS will save you from being left without any seat.
- Have all certificates with you before the list comes: Once the list is published, it won’t take long for the registration process to start. Having all the certificates ready will be a great relief then.
