Bihar UGEAC Counselling Registration Process 2026 – Full Details

Bihar UGEAC Counselling Registration 2026 is the starting point for anyone who wants to seek admission to engineering and architecture colleges in Bihar through the centralized process.

Online registration has already started on Bihar UGEAC official website (https://bceceboard.bihar.gov.in) from 13th May 2026 which will end on 5th June 2026. The registration is done entirely online through the BCECEB portal. It looks straightforward, but there are several rules and conditions that many students get wrong.

This article walks you through the full process so you do not make mistakes that cost you your seat.

Before You Start – Keep These Ready

Do not open the registration form without having the following ready first. Trying to arrange these midway through the form causes errors and unnecessary stress.

  • JEE Main 2026 Application Number, Roll Number, and score/rank
  • NATA 2026 score (only if applying for B.Arch)
  • Class X and Class XII board name, roll number, year of passing, and marks
  • Valid mobile number and email ID that you actively use
  • Scanned documents (details in the documents section below)
  • Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking / UPI for fee payment

Step-by-Step Bihar UGEAC 2026 Registration Process

Go to the Official BCECEB Portal

Visit bceceboard.bihar.gov.in and look for the UGEAC 2026 registration link. This link will be active only during the registration window. Do not register through any other website. There is no authorized third-party registration platform.

Create Your Account / New Registration

Click on the new registration option and fill in your basic details. You will be asked to provide:

  • Your name (as per Class X marksheet)
  • Father’s name
  • Date of birth
  • Mobile number
  • Email ID

A verification OTP will be sent to your mobile number and email. Enter the OTP to verify and proceed. Note down your login credentials carefully. You will need them throughout the counselling process.

Fill Personal and Academic Details

Once your account is created, log in and fill out the application form which includes:

  • Personal Details (name, date of birth, gender, names of parents, complete address, phone number and email address)
  • Academic Details (board for Class X/XII, roll number, pass year and grades obtained in respect of subjects on JEE Main 2026 application number and ranking if you are submitting JEE Main or NATA 2026/JEE Paper-II applications).

Enter everything exactly as it appears on your certificates. Even small discrepancies between your form and your documents can lead to issues at document verification.

Select Your Category and Domicile Correctly

This step is important. Select from the categories: UR, SC, ST, EBC, BC or EWS categorisation. If you belong to a sub category you have to select either DQ, SMQ or RCG as well.

One thing many candidates get wrong: Reserved category benefits in UGEAC 2026 are available only to permanent residents of Bihar. If you are from another state, you must apply under the Unreserved category, even if you belong to SC/ST/OBC in your home state. Your caste certificate must be issued by the competent authority in Bihar to claim reservation here.

In order to apply for EWS category, you or your family must have an annual income of less than Rs. 8 Lakh per annum, plus cannot already be entitled to any such SC, ST, EBC or BC reservations.

Upload Required Documents

Upload scanned copies of all required documents at this stage. Documents must be clear, properly cropped, and within the file size limits specified on the portal.

Review Everything Before Final Submit

Before you click the `submit` button, make sure you’ve gone through and reviewed each detail listed on your form. Check below information:

  • Spelling of your name (needs to match Class X certificate)
  • Selected category and sub-category
  • JEE Main 2026 application number and rank
  • Accuracy and readability of uploaded documents
  • Phone number and email are accurate and accessible.

There will be no way to change anything after the `submit` button is clicked until the 2-day editing period opens. Do not rely on being able to change any of the above items later.

Pay the Counselling Fee

After clicking “Final Submit and Proceed to Payment”, you will be directed to the payment gateway. Pay the counselling fee through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI.

CategoryCounselling Fee
Unreserved (UR) / EWS / BC / EBCRs. 1,200/- + Processing Charges
SC / ST / DQ (PwD)Rs. 600/- + Processing Charges

The fee is non-refundable. Once paid, it will not be returned under any condition, even if you do not participate in counselling.

If your payment is deducted but the transaction fails: Do not wait for it to be resolved. Pay the fee again immediately to ensure your registration is complete. Your previous failed transaction will be refunded to your account in due course, but your form will only be accepted once the successful payment reflects in BCECEB’s account before the closing deadline.

Take Printout of the Application Form

After successful payment, download and take a printout of your completed application form. This hard copy must be submitted at the time of document verification at the allotted college. Do not skip this step.

The 2-Day Editing Window

After the main registration closes, BCECEB opens a 2-day online editing window. You can use this window to:

  • Correct minor errors in personal or academic details
  • Re-upload documents if the previously uploaded ones were unclear
  • Update contact information

You cannot change your programme or make major changes during this window. Use it only for corrections.

After Registration – What Happens Next?

Once registration and the editing window both close, BCECEB processes all applications and prepares the merit list. Your rank in the merit list is published on the official website.

After the merit list, BCECEB announces the counselling schedule. You will then log in to fill your college and branch preferences. The actual seat allotment happens based on your merit list rank and your filled choices.

You must keep checking the BCECEB website regularly after registration. All subsequent steps and notifications happen there.
