JoSAA Counselling Date 2026 – Complete Schedule for Registration, Seat Allotment & Fee Payment

JoSAA Counselling Date is the first thing every JEE candidate should lock down after results are declared. Miss a single deadline whether it is choice locking, fee payment, or a query response and your seat is gone with no possibility of appeal. The process is entirely online and exceptions simply do not exist. JoSAA Registration & Choice Filling will start from 2nd June 2026.

JoSAA 2026 is conducting five rounds of seat allocation for IITs, IISc, NITs, IIEST, IIITs (Triple-I-Ts), and other Government-Funded Technical Institutes (GFTIs). JoSAA 2026 Final Round Schedule for IITs/IISc

Round 5 is the final round of JoSAA for IIT and IISc seat allocation. There are no further rounds or spot rounds for IITs/IISc after this.

NIT+ System Schedule (CSAB Related)

After JoSAA Round 5, candidates with allotted NIT+ System seats must complete the Partial Admission Fee (PAF) payment through the CSAB portal. This is mandatory — non-payment forfeits the seat.

What Happens After JoSAA Counselling Dates End?

For IITs and IISc, physical reporting at the admitting institute happens after the conclusion of the JoSAA process. Biometric verification is also done at the time of reporting for IIT/IISc candidates.

For NIT+ System candidates, physical reporting is scheduled after CSAB Special Rounds. Dates for physical reporting are published on the CSAB website (csab.nic.in). Vacant seats in NIT+ institutes (if any) are filled through CSAB Special Rounds, which run independently of JoSAA.

A. Round 1 seat allotment for JoSAA 2026 will be on 13 June, 2026 at 10:00 AM IST. Candidates can report online (Pay Fees + Upload Documents) until 26 June, 2026, 5:00 PM IST.

Q. How many rounds does JoSAA 2026 have?

A. JoSAA 2026 has 5 rounds. Rounds 1 to 4 are open to all institutes. Round 5 (July 16, 2026) is the final round for IITs and IISc. The NIT+ System participates through all 5 rounds, after which CSAB runs special rounds for remaining vacant seats.

Q. What is the last date for JoSAA 2026 NIT+ PAF payment?

A. For the seats allocated in NIT+ System, payment of Partial Admission Fee (PAF) will be made between July 22 to July 24, 2026 till 5:00 PM IST at csab.nic.in through CSAB website.. Failing to do the PAF will cancel the seat allotment.

Q. Can I withdraw my seat after JoSAA Round 4?

A. For IIT/IISc seats, the withdrawal window is available only from Round 2 up to the end of Round 4 (July 14, 2026 at 5:00 PM). Withdrawal is not permitted after Round 5 commences for IIT/IISc. For NIT+ System seats, withdrawal is available through the final round of JoSAA.
