OJEE Counselling Registration 2026

OJEE 2026 counselling registration for B.Tech will be completed online only at www.ojee.nic.in. No offline counselling registration will be provided.

Who Should Apply?

Candidates who have obtained a valid JEE Main 2026 Paper I ranking who wish to apply for admissions into B.Tech courses offered in Odisha under OJEE 2026 must apply using the counselling website. Without a valid rank, you cannot participate.

Step-by-Step OJEE Counselling Registration Process

Step 1: Login into the Official Website. To visit the official website go to the URL www.ojee.nic.in. After reaching the website, select your course (B.Tech) and click on “New Candidate Registration.”

Step 2: Accept the Consent Page. After visiting the official website, you will see a page related to candidate consent. Here you have to accept that page by clicking on “I Agree.”

Step 3: Give Basic Authentication Details. Enter your JEE Main 2026 application number. Also, fill up your name as mentioned in your rank card. Now mention your date of birth and gender and put the security pin and then click on the “Submit” button.

Step 4: Provide Mobile Number, Email ID, and Password Enter your mobile number and email address in the personal details section. Next, enter your password. It must contain 8 to 13 alphanumeric characters including a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters.

Note this password carefully. You will need it for choice filling, viewing results, and exercising freeze or float options. Never share it with anyone. After this step, an SMS confirmation will be sent to your registered mobile number.

Step 5: Fill Candidate Profile (Application Form) Click on “Application Form” to fill your profile. This is one of the most important steps. You will fill:

  • State of domicile: State (S), Outside State (ZZ), or NRI
  • Social category: SC, ST, EWS, or General (GE)

Fill these details accurately. These fields define your reservation eligibility during seat allotment.

Step 6: Provide Details about Qualifying Examination. Enter your Class XII (10+2) board name, roll no., institute name, passing year, and marks obtained in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry (subject wise). It’s essential to provide proper subject wise marks for B.Tech as the portal uses this information to activate the respective engineering branch depending upon the subjects taken during 10+2.

Those candidates who have passed Class X and Class XII examination from State Government School, which are affiliates to BSE Odisha and CHSE Odisha, should select their school names properly from the drop-down list to claim the SGS quota.

Step 7: Provide your permanent and correspondence addresses. Preview your filled information and hit the Save and Final Submit button to finalize your registration.

Step 8: Pay Registration Fees Online. After successful final submission, go to the ‘Pay Registration Fee’ section by clicking on the link to pay Rs. 450/- registration fees. The fees can be paid online via BILLDESK/HDFC payment gateways using Debit card/Credit card or Net banking.

Upon successful payment of fee, your registration becomes complete and you will become eligible to fill choices.

OJEE Counselling Choice Filling 2026

Choice filling opens after successful registration and fee payment. This is where you select the college and branch combinations you want, in order of preference.

How to Fill Choices

Log in to www.ojee.nic.in with your credentials and click on “Choice Filling and Locking.” Read the instructions carefully before proceeding.

The screen has two blocks: the left block shows all available colleges and branches in alphabetical order (you can filter by Government or Private). The right block shows your filled choices.

You can add choices using “Add Multiple” or add them one by one using the “Add” button. Arrange your choices in order of preference using the SWAP and MOVE options. One college with one branch counts as one choice. For example, OUTR (Odisha University of Technology and Research) with Civil Engineering is one choice. OUTR with CSE is a separate choice.

Fill as many choices as possible. There is no upper limit on the number of choices. More choices improve your chances of allotment and upgradation.

TFW Candidates

TFW candidates will see both TFW seats (for example, OUTR Mechanical TFW) and non-TFW seats (OUTR Mechanical) in the choice list. Fill both TFW and non-TFW choices to avoid remaining unallotted. TFW seats are limited to 5% supernumerary intake per course.

Mock Allotment

Prior to the final allotment, there is a Mock Allotment Result offered on a designated day. It tells you what your likely allotment will be considering the choices you have made on that day. You can see where you stand and modify your choices if needed. The mock allotment is indicative only, based on choices filled one day prior to the mock result date.

Locking Choices

After evaluating the mock result and making your decisions, lock your choices using your password within the given time period. Locking cannot be undone once done and happens only once. Once locked, no change will be possible in your list of choices for that particular round under any condition.

If you fail to lock your choices before the deadline, your last saved choices are automatically locked by the server.

Always lock your choices yourself before the deadline to be safe. After locking, take a print of your locked choice slip for your records.

OJEE Counselling Process 2026 – Round-by-Round

Round I Allotment

After choice locking, Round I allotment is declared on the website. Allotment is based on rank, category, sub-category, and choices filled. SMS notification is sent to your registered mobile number.

Do not report to the allotted institute based on Round I allotment. After Round I, every allotted candidate must mandatorily complete three steps:

Step A: Exercise Freeze or Float Option

  • Float: You wish to be considered for upgradation to a choice higher preference in the coming rounds. The present allotment is kept as your safety choice unless you get a better choice.
  • Freeze: You are happy with your present allotment and you do not wish to go for upgradation in future rounds. This allotment is permanently locked.

Once you exercise Float or Freeze option, it cannot be altered in any way by you.

Step B: Upload Required Documents (Online)

All documents must be uploaded in PDF format only. File size limits are mentioned against each document on the portal. Documents must be clearly readable. Do not use special characters in file names.

Step C: Pay Part Admission / Seat Confirmation Fee

Pay Rs. 10,000 (General) or Rs. 5,000 (SC/ST/PWD) online through the BILLDESK/HDFC/SBI gateway. If you fail to complete any of these three steps, your allotted seat is cancelled and you will be out of the counselling process permanently.

Document Verification

Documents are verified online by the Document Verifying Officer. You do not need to visit any centre. The verifying officer may raise a query if there is any discrepancy. You will be notified through SMS and email. Resolve the query within the specified date and time. If the query is not resolved in time, verification is treated as unsuccessful and your seat is cancelled.

If your category or sub-category document is rejected (for example, if your SC certificate is not accepted), your allotment under that category is cancelled and you are considered for General category allotment in the subsequent round, subject to submitting an undertaking.

Physically Challenged (PWD) candidates must appear before the Medical Board at SCB Medical College and Hospital, Cuttack on the scheduled date. They are not required to upload a medical certificate but they must attend the Medical Board. Failure to do so means they will not be considered under PWD category.

Withdrawal Option

Once the Part Admission Fee is paid by a candidate who does not wish to proceed further, the candidate can withdraw during the specified period for withdrawal. Candidates who withdraw will be refunded their total Part Admission Fee after counseling has been completed.

Candidates who withdraw after the last date for withdrawal are not refunded their fees.

Round II Allotment

After Round I document verification is complete, Round II allotment is declared. Candidates who were allotted in Round I and opted for Float may get upgraded to a higher preference. Candidates who were not allotted in Round I may get an allotment now.

Newly allotted candidates in Round II must follow the same steps: exercise Freeze/Float, upload documents, and pay the Part Admission Fee within the specified time. Failure to complete these steps means the seat is cancelled.

After Round II, registration, fee payment, and choice filling opens for 2nd/Special OJEE candidates and any JEE Main candidates who did not register earlier.

Round III (Final Allotment)

In Round III, all the candidates in the upgradation process, those candidates which were left unalloted in previous rounds, and fresh candidates will be included for final allotment.

Candidates who froze their allotment in Round I or Round II will get their final allotment in the same seat. Float candidates will be upgraded if a better choice is available.

After final allotment in Round III, download the final allotment letter from the website. All allotted candidates in Round III should upload the required documents and pay the Part Admission Fee to get their final allotment letter. Now report to the finally allotted institute with:

  • Final Allotment Letter
  • Fee deposit slip
  • Original documents and supporting certificates

Your name will be registered at the OJEE website with the institute as reported and the registration card will be issued to you.

Important warning: If you are allotted finally and have uploaded all your documents along with the payment of part admission fee and still you don’t report to the college, then the entire Part Admission Fee of Rs. 10,000/- or Rs. 5,000/- will be forfeited.
