MHT CET Counselling Documents Required 2026 is a checklist every candidate must prepare well before the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) begins. Documents Required for All Candidates (Mandatory for Everyone)

Every candidate must submit an application that includes the following types of documents, without exception to their classification, category of eligibility, or their chosen course of study. Documents Required:

  • SSC Mark Sheet and Certificate – Identifies name and d.o.b and confirms basic eligibility
  • HSC / (Also known as Class 12) Mark Sheet and Passing Certificate – Confirm eligibility to enter first year courses as a planned entry point.
  • Diploma Mark Sheet (for Lateral Entry Candidates) – Provides Confirmation of eligibility to enter 2nd year Directly.
  • Graduation Mark-sheet (for Post Graduate Course Candidates); Postgraduate Program Eligibility Confirmed.
  • 2026 MHT-CET (for Candidate Resident in Maharashtra); Entrance Examination Score.
  • 2026 JEE-Main for All-India candidates; Entrance Examination Score.
  • View Entry in MHCET / GPAT / NATA / UCEED / CUET; As Applicable Based On Candidate’s Course of Application.
  • Certificate of Indian Citizenship; Proof of Citizenship.

The name on your CAP Application and your date of birth must exactly match the name in your certificate of SSC (Class 10); there will be no exceptions; Any Mismatch Will Result In Rejection.

Non-Creamy Layer Certificate must be valid up to 31st March 2026. Expired certificates are not accepted. EWS certificate must specifically be valid for the 2025-26 financial year.

NRI / OCI / PIO / Foreign National Candidates

  • Documents are notified separately by the CET Cell from time to time on cetcell.mahacet.org. Check the official portal for the updated list before applying.

  • Sponsorship Certificate – Proforma-P (from sponsoring organization) and Proforma-Q (undertaking from candidate)

Working Professional Candidates

  • Experience Certificate – Proforma-W1 from employer confirming minimum one year full-time or regular work experience
  • Declaration – Proforma-W2 self-declaration confirming industry is within 50 km radial distance from the admitting institute

Documents Required at the Institute After Final Allotment

When you report to the allotted institute, carry the following in original along with one set of self-attested photocopies:

  • All documents listed above (originals)
  • Provisional Seat Allotment Letter (downloaded from portal)
  • Seat Acceptance Fee Receipt
  • Demand Draft or payment proof for college fee (as applicable)
  • Passport-size photographs (as required by the institution)
  • Migration Certificate and Transfer Certificate (TC) — to be submitted to the admitted institution

If you cannot produce original certificates at the time of reporting because they are retained at another institution you are already enrolled in, you must submit an attested copy along with a certificate from the Head of that institution confirming the originals are held there. You will be given 4 working days to submit the originals after fee payment.

Q. What is the most important document for MHT CET CAP 2026?

A. The SSC (Class 10) marksheet and certificate is the most critical document. Your name and date of birth in the application must exactly match this certificate.

Q. Can I upload documents in PDF format?

A. No. Only .jpg or .gif format is accepted. Maximum file size is 1 MB per document at a minimum resolution of 150 dpi.

Q. My OBC certificate was issued last year. Is it valid for MHT CET CAP 2026?

A. OBC Certificate will only be acknowledged as valid if the Non-Creamy Layer Certificate has a validity period until 31 March 2026. If either certificates cause you to not be admitted to document verification, you will need to obtain a new certificate. 

Q. Do I need a separate domicile certificate if I studied 10th and 12th in Maharashtra?

A. For Type A candidature, a domicile certificate, birth certificate showing Maharashtra, or school leaving certificate confirming study in Maharashtra is sufficient. A separate domicile certificate may not always be needed if other valid proof is available.

Q. What proforma certificates are required for Defence candidates?

A. Defence candidates must provide: DEF-1 and DEF-2 must provide a Proforma-C and a domicile certificate; DEF-3 must include: (1) a Proforma-C, and (2) either a Proforma-D or a Proforma-E. The Pro forma Certificate is available on cetcell.mahacet.org.

Q. Can I change my category from General to Reserved after submitting the CAP form?

A. No. Category cannot be changed from General to Reserved at any stage after submission. Only Reserved to General is permitted if valid category certificates cannot be produced at ARC.
