BITSAT Exam 2026 is an important entrance exam for students who want to study at BITS Pilani and its campuses in Goa and Hyderabad. BITSAT is a computer-based online test, where you answer questions directly on a computer using a keyboard or mouse. Every candidate receives their unique set of exam questions via a locked server, this allows the test to be flexible and offer a fair opportunity for all candidates.
Another benefit of the BITSAT test is that it allows for multiple opportunities for each applicant, the test has two Sessions. BITSAT Exam Pattern 2026
To prepare for this challenging 2026 BITSAT exam, it is essential to know about it’s structure, because BITSAT tests your ability to answer questions quickly, accurately, and wisely.
BITSAT is a computer-based test taken on the Internet and will consist of several sessions designed to measure not only a student’s knowledge of specific subject areas but also their ability to use critical thinking skills and to interpret and express themselves through written English.
All BITSAT 2026 sessions will run for three hours (180 minutes). There will be no time restrictions for each section of the test so that candidates can move from one section to another as they please and make decisions regarding their own time management during the testing process.

Question Type and Marking Scheme
All questions are multiple choice questions (MCQs) with four options, out of which only one is correct.
- Correct answer: +3 marks
- Incorrect answer: –1 mark
- Unattempted question: 0 marks
- Multiple answers for a single question are not allowed by the system.
Extra Questions Option (Bonus Opportunity)
If a candidate answers all 130 questions without skipping any, and time is still left, they will get an option to attempt extra 12 questions.
These extra questions are distributed as:
- Physics – 3
- Chemistry – 3
- Mathematics/Biology – 3
- Logical Reasoning – 3
- Once a candidate opts for extra questions, they cannot undo and modify any of the original 130 answers.

- There is no time limit for individual sections.

1. Registration
- You will register for the test with an application number (a system-generated ID consisting of eight digits) and a password.

- OTPs will be sent to both email and mobile number for verification.

2. Completion of Application Form
- To complete your application form, use the application number and password you received to log in.
- Enter all of the required personal information, as well as your academic and exam information.

3. Session Selection and Attempts
- Candidates can appear for BITSAT 2026 a maximum of two times.

Edit Window and Corrections

BITSAT Exam 2026 Score Report
The candidates will receive their score from the BITSAT test immediately following completion of the examination on their computer screen. After completion of the test, the system will display the number of answers that were answered correctly, incorrectly, and the total score achieved by the candidate at that time. This immediate score display allows candidates to assess their performance as soon as they have completed the BITSAT exam.
Before the candidate logs out of the BITSAT test window, he/she must enter the total score obtained on their response sheet. The candidate will not be able to log out of the test window unless they have entered their total score correctly. This is an important step in the BITSAT testing process because it allows candidates to make sure they have recorded and verified their total score before exiting the test and ensures all students have done so for their records as well.
In addition to being able to view the score online immediately after their BITSAT, candidates will also have access to a detailed BITSAT score report via the BITS Pilani admissions website in the days following their exam date. The full report can be downloaded and printed for use during the various stages of counselling or admission-related processes.
It is important that all candidates maintain a copy of their BITSAT score report because they may need it during the upcoming stages of the admissions process.
Merit List for Admission
Admission through BITSAT is based strictly on merit. Candidates who appear in Session-1, Session-2, or both sessions are eligible for admission only if they meet the minimum Class 12 marks requirement in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology, as per the eligibility criteria.
All eligible candidates who wish to take admission must submit the Admission Application Form along with their Class 12 marks, programme preferences, and required fees within the notified period (tentatively 1st June to 30th June). The merit list is prepared based on the BITSAT score of candidates who complete this process.
In case of a tie in BITSAT scores, it is resolved in the following order:
- Higher score in Mathematics / Biology (for B.Pharm.)

Test Centers for BITSAT 2026
BITS Pilani will conduct the BITSAT 2026 to make this entrance examination possible for Indian and international students. To give the opportunity to as many students as possible, the BITSAT is conducted at multiple test locations outside of the BITS Pilani campuses. Along with the BITS campuses located in Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad, the BITSAT is also held at numerous cities in many states across the country and in Dubai and Kathmandu in Nepal.
BITSAT is conducted in two sessions (Session-1 and Session-2), and the list of test centers applies to both sessions. The final availability of centers and exam days depends on the number of applications received.
