JAC Delhi 2021 

JAC DELHI 2021 is for taking admissioin UG courses in top leading universities funded by the Govt. of Delhi, offering Engineering, Architecture as well as Management courses. JAC DELHI 2021 has been started in 2014 (6 years ago), as an initiative taken by the Govt. of NCT of Delhi, to avoid a various number of counseling for admissions and make sure that the candidates and their guardian do not face any inconvenience due to the shifting of the student from an institution to the other one (due to various reasons) during the admission .

JAC DELHI Counselling 2021

 For now, Delhi Technological University (DTU), Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology, Delhi (IIITD) and Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT) participating in JAC 2021. JAC 2021 is an online based examination conducted and organized by the National Informatics Centre (NIC). The students take admissions through JAC DELHI 2021 on the basis of the marks/rank scored or secured in Joint Entrance Examination, JEE (Main) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). In the year 2021, 5448 seats in Engineering and 40 seats in Architecture are offered to the students by the four participating institutions in JAC DELHI 2021 which will be allotted through JAC DELHI 2021 counseling process. Because of the prevailing situation in the country, there has been a change in the

counseling procedure and schedule of the counseling. In case of further unavoidable amendments in the counseling procedure and schedule, the same will be made available on the JAC Delhi website www.jacdelhi.nic.in. In view of this candidates and their parents/guardians are advised to regularly visit the JAC Delhi website.

Qualifying Marks for  JAC DELHI 2021

Candidates must have scored 60% or more marks in an aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, and should have passed English as a subject of study at the Senior School Certificate Examination Level (Core or Elective).

Candidates having JEE Main 2021 Rank (Paper I) will be eligible for admission to the first semester of B. Tech. course provided he/she has passed in each subject separately.

Candidates should have scored 80% or more marks in the aggregate of best of five subjects including Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and 80% or more in Mathematics in qualifying examination.

Candidates having JEE Main 2021 Rank (Paper I) will be eligible.

Candidates must have cleared the basic qualifying examination with at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics and also at least 50% in aggregate of the 10+2 level examination

This round of counseling is scheduled to give final opportunity to all those candidates:

  1. Who have not registered online to register?
  2. Who are already admitted and want to edit their filled choices,
  • Who are registered but have not been allotted any seat because they have filled only limited number of choices, to fill maximum number of choices. If a seat is allotted to them during this round of counseling and their admission is confirmed, then only they will be considered for internal up gradation after completion of pre-up gradation
  1. After completion of pre-up gradation round, an up gradation of all the admitted candidates will be done. The resulting vacancies, if any, will be filled in the spot

Spot Round Admission Process

All the candidates who have registered for participation in spot round by paying spot round participation fee of Rs. 10000/- must report in person (No authorized representative are allowed to participate) at the Spot Round venue as per spot round schedule and mark their attendance. All present candidates will then be called in order of their rank and available seats are displayed. Candidate can choose any available seat after producing a Demand Draft of Rs.93,000/- in favor of “JAC DELHI”. If the candidate does not accept any of the offered seats, then he may withdraw from the spot round. In such cases, the spot round participation fee (Rs. 10000/-) deposited by the candidate will be refunded within 10 days after spot round is over, however there will be no refund for the registration fee of Rs.1500/-.

Reporting at the Final Allotted University / Institute All provisionally admitted candidates are required to visit the website of allotted institute/university for physical verification of original documents/commencement of classes and payment of balance fee (if any). Admitted candidates need to pay the balance fee at the final allotted University / Institute AS PER FEE PAYMENT SCHEDULE available on respective institute/university website, failing which, the admission of the candidate automatically stands cancelled ipso facto.

How to Calculate the percentile for JEE Main Exam 2020

There is a formula on the basis of which the percentile is calculated the formula is:

100 X Number of candidates appeared in the ‘Session’ with raw score equal to or less than the candidate / Total number of candidates who have appeared in that session.

Let us take an example:

Suppose if a student gets 70 percent marks and the total number of students who got 70% marks or less are 15000 in number, the total number of aspirants in that session is 18000, then the percentile would be: 100 X 15000 / 18000 = 83.33 %.

JoSAA Eligibility Criteria:

  • An Aspirant must have passed class 12 or equivalent as per JoSAA norms or 12th with PCM subjects.
  • An Aspirant must have qualified JEE Mains/Advance 2021.

Steps for JoSAA registration 2021:

Step1-        First of all the candidates must register themselves on the official website of JoSAA. The candidate must fill in the general details and were provided with the ID and Password for future correspondence.

Step 2-       Choice filling is the next step in which the list of courses and colleges are available for making the choice. The list shown is as per the eligibility in JEE Mains and JEE Advance. It is advised to choose the college as per the preference of the candidates. Choice Locking is the another part of this section where a time interval is provided to the candidates to lock their choice.

Step 3-       There are two rounds of mock seat allotment before the final choice filling and locking where a candidate can analyse their probability in getting the college they preferred to take admissions in. Candidates can modify their Choice filling and locking before the last date of modification allowed for choice filling and locking by the authorities.

Step 4-       Result announcement of seat allotment by JoSAA is done via online mode where an aspirant can check their seat allotment status of JoSAA Counselling 2021. At this stage there are four options available for the students to opt for i.e. Freeze, Float, Slide and Withdraw.

Step 5-       At this step candidates have to pay JoSAA Counselling fee 2021 which Rs. 35, 000 for Unreserved Category and Rs. 15000 for Reserved category. The JoSAA Counselling fee is to be paid only via online mode through E- Challan.

Step 6-       Candidates have to visit to the reporting centres as mentioned by the JoSAA and have to carry documents for verification process. If the candidate would not be able to reach the reporting centres in stipulated period of time his/her admission would be cancelled by the authorities.

JoSAA Mock Allotment 2021:

There will be the announcement of the result of the JoSAA 2021 mock allotment rounds in which the aspirants would be able to know the chances of getting the college of their preference. The process is online and enough time would be given to candidates for making changes in the order of their preference as it is not the final allotment of seats.

There are total seven rounds conducted for the JoSAA allocation of seats and it is done on the basis of keeping in mind many factors i.e. merit of the candidates, preference made by the candidates, availability of seats for allocation. At the time of allocation of seats candidate would be provided with Provisional seat allotment letter for which the candidate have to pay the pay a fee known as seat allotment fee which is to be paid online via challan. The seat acceptance fee for different categories is mentioned below:

JoSAA Seat allocation process:

Seat allocation is a bit complex process for the candidates as now they have four options to opt from i.e.

Freeze: Candidates accept the offered seat and tells that they are

Content with the allocated academic program and that they do not want to play a part in further rounds of seat allocation. Such candidates will NOT be considered in further rounds of admission.

Float: Candidates accept the offered seat and tells that, if admission to an academic program of better or higher first choice in any Institute is offered, they will accept it. Else, they will continue with the currently accepted academic program. Such candidates will be considered in later rounds of admission.

Slide: Candidates accept the offered seat and tells that, if admission to an academic program of better / higher preference is offered within the same Institute, they will accept it. Such candidates will be taken into consideration for the later rounds of admission.

Withdraw: If initially any candidate had accepted some college as per seat allotment procedure and doesn’t wish to join the college, he/she may report to the college and withdraw their seat before the final round of seat allotment.

Factors Affecting Seat allocation process in JoSAA Counselling 2021:

  1.     The category [GEN, GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, GEN-PwD,  

         GENEWS-PwD, OBC-NCL-PwD, SC-PwD, ST-PwD] of the   

         candidate.

  1.      The position of the aspirant in respective rank list(s).
  2. The order of preference of academic programs opted by the aspirant

     (iv)     The availability of seats in different seat categories or   

                quotas for which the candidate is eligible.

RANK LISTS

The following TYPES of rank lists will be prepared:

(i) Common rank list (CRL): It includes candidates who are assigned the tag GEN, GEN-EWS, GEN-PwD, GEN-EWS-PwD, OBC-NCL, OBC-NCLPwD, SC, SC-PwD, ST or ST-PwD. Foreign tag candidates are also

included in the CRL prepared based on JEE (Advanced) 2019.

(ii) GEN-EWS rank list: It includes candidates who are assigned the tag GEN-EWS or GEN-EWS-PwD.

(iii) OBC-NCL rank list: It includes candidates who are assigned the tag OBC-NCL or OBC-NCL-PwD.

(iv) SC rank list: It includes candidates who are assigned the tag SC or SCPwD.

(v) ST rank list: It includes candidates who are assigned the tag ST or STPwD.

(vi) CRL-PwD rank list: It includes candidates who are assigned the tag GEN-PwD, OBC-NCL-PwD, SC-PwD, or ST-PwD.

(vii) GEN-EWS-PwD rank list: It includes candidates who are assigned the tag GEN-EWS-PwD.

(viii)OBC-NCL-PwD rank list: It includes candidates who are assigned the tag OBC-NCL-PwD.

(ix) SC-PwD rank list: It includes candidates who are assigned the tag SCPwD.

(x) ST-PwD rank list: It includes candidates who are assigned the tag

ST-PwD.

List of Documents required to be presented at reporting centres for JoSAA Counselling 2021:

For NIT’s, GFTI’s, IIT’s and IIIT’s

  • Four Passport size photographs
  • Provisional Seat Allotment letter
  • Admit card of JEE Mains 2021.
  • Score card of JEE Mains 2021.
  • Class 12th Passing certificate and Marksheets.
  • Undertaking by the candidate.
  • Medical Certificate.
  • Proof of payment of E-Challan that had been paid by the candidate at the time of application.
  • Category Certificate (If Applicable)
  • Print out of the list of filled choices for Seat allotment.
  •  Class 10th Mark sheet for the age proof.

Once the students visit the allotted institute and present the above mentioned documents they get confirmed admission but if the candidate failed to report the allotted institute his seat would be allotted to other candidate.

REQUIREMENT of DUAL REPORTING:

If a candidate, who accepts a seat in an NIT, IIEST, IIIT (Triple-I-T) or Other GFTI’s by reporting at any reporting centre of NIT, I
IEST, IIIT (Triple-I-T) and Other-GFTI in a particular round of seat distribution, is owed a seat in an IIT in any further round of seat allocation, the candidate must report at a reporting centre of the IITs to accept the seat within the reporting deadline timing of that round of seat allocation. Seat allocation in an IIT in following round(s) automatically cancels the earlier accepted seat in an NIT, IIEST, IIIT (Triple-I-T) or Other-GFTI. Therefore, if a candidate failed to report at the reporting centre of the IITs to accept his or her newly allocated seat would lead to seat cancellation and the candidate will be out of JoSAA process for 2021. The candidate need not to pay any other charges if he accepts the seats at the reporting centre in case of dual reporting.

  • There is no need for dual reporting is required if candidates who are owed seats only in IITs in all rounds of seat allocation process. There is requirement of only first time reporting at a reporting centre of IITs is required.
  • Likewise, there is no need for dual reporting is required for candidates who are allocated seats only in NIT, IIEST, IIIT (Triple-I-T) or Other-GFTI in all rounds of seat allotment. There is need of first time reporting at a reporting centre of NIT, IIEST, IIIT (Triple-I-T) or Other-GFTI.

Question: What is the procedure for Online Registration and Counseling Fee Payment?

Answer: Please read JAC Delhi 2021 admission brochure available on www.jacdelhi.nic.in carefully for clarification of all procedures.

Question: My JEE Mains examination result has been declared in a different category/subcategory/region. Can I register for JAC counseling under a different category/subcategory/region?

Answer: your category/sub-category/ region (Whether Delhi or outside Delhi) independent of what was mentioned by you in JEE (Main) application form. Only the candidate’s name, JEE (Main) roll number and CRL rank will be authenticated from JEE (Main) result.

Question: What is the source of latest information about the admission, institute, etc.?

Answer: Latest information is available on www.jacdelhi.nic.in and the individual institute’s website.

Question: Are there any management quota seats in JAC Delhi 2021?

Answer: There is no MANAGEMENT QUOTA seat in any of the participating university/institute. Candidates are advised that they should not believe in unscrupulous elements claiming that they can arrange Management Quota seats.

Question: When will the online registration and choice filling start?

Answer: Online registration and choice filling process for JAC DELHI 2021 will start from 21st Sept 2021.

Question: When and where will the list of selected candidates be displayed?

Answer: Seat allotment status will be made available on Candidate’s Login after declaration of seat allotment result in each round as specified in the counseling schedule.

Question: What will be the minimum marks criteria for a candidate if he/she is eligible for seats under multiple reservation categories/subcategories?

Answer: the minimum marks criteria applicable for the JAC DELHI 2021 ALLOTTED seat will be applicable.

Question: I am from outside Delhi and belong to of PD/OBC category. Am I eligible to apply under these categories?

Answer: Yes!

Question: A student who has done schooling from Delhi can apply under outside Delhi quota?

Answer:  No!

Question: Who is a Delhi candidate?

Answer: The students who have passed qualifying exams (i.e. 12th) from the schools located in Delhi (having PIN CODE of Delhi), irrespective of the location of their hometown, would be considered as “Delhi Candidate”. 11. Are schools located in NCR, but outside Delhi borders, considered as Delhi schools?

Question: Are there any seats reserved for various categories?

Answer: Yes!

Question: Is there any Relaxation in Marks for Reserved Categories in JAC DELHI 2021?

Answer: Yes! Candidates belonging to certain reserved categories shall be allowed a concession in minimum eligibility requirements. Please refer admission brochure for details.

Question: Are there any seats reserved for single girl child candidates in JAC DELHI 2021?

Answer: One seat in each branch of DTU over and above the normal intake is reserved for Single Girl Child candidate (Girl having no brother and sister (except twin sister)), who have passed 10+2 from schools located in NCT of Delhi for admission to B. Tech. courses. No seat is reserved in NSUT, IIITD and IGDTUW for a single girl child.

Question: Can a candidate change or re-order his/her choices, delete earlier choices and add new choices?

Answer: Editing of choices is permitted during entire duration of registration window in a particular round before locking the choices. Also, new registration is allowed at the beginning of each round of counseling in which all the previously registered candidates who have not been allotted any seat, can change/edit their choices.

Question: Will a Girl candidate who does not have a living sibling will be considered as Single Girl Child?

Answer: Please refer the Certificate for Single Girl Child to be submitted in support of Single Girl Child quota for answer of this query.
