Free Exit, Resignation and Service Bond
- Free exit (Round 1 only): Candidates allotted a seat through Round 1 counselling, in either a Government or Private Medical/Dental college, have the facility of Free Exit. If such a candidate does not take admission after Round 1 allotment, their security money is refunded. A candidate who has used this Free Exit facility can participate again in Round 2 or Round 3 counselling.
- Round 2 onwards: From Round 2 counselling, candidates allotted a seat at a Government or Private Medical/Dental college must take admission on the allotted seat; if they do not, their entire deposited security money is forfeited (for Government college seats, tuition fee already paid is refunded; for private college seats, tuition fee already paid at that time is also refunded, per the same provision). Candidates who wish to participate in Round 3 after this must again deposit the security money.
- Round 3 and Stray Vacancy Round: After Round 3 counselling is complete, no candidate is permitted to vacate a seat; if a candidate resigns before the Stray Vacancy Round’s choice filling despite this, their entire security money is forfeited, along with fees already deposited at that time. Similarly, no seat vacation is permitted after the Stray Vacancy Round or before course completion; if a candidate resigns their seat, their security money and all fees deposited at that time are forfeited.
- Compulsory Government Service Bond: Students admitted to the MBBS/BDS course in Government Medical/Dental Colleges/Institutions/Universities must execute a mandatory Government service bond. The bond period is 2 years, with a bond amount of Rs. 10 lakh, for service (as far as possible/as needed) in Government Medical Colleges outside major cities, or in Primary Health Centres under the Medical and Health Department, as a contractual Medical Officer.
- Debarment: AIf a candidate admitted to a Government-sector Medical/Dental college leaves their seat after the final round of counselling but before completing the course, they will be debarred from the admission process for the next academic session.
