How the UPTAC Process Works – End to End

Registration (25th May – 15th June 2026): This is the only window for Registration which shall be open only in Round 1 and it is not allowed in Round 2, Round 3 and Round 4. Candidates can register at https://uptac.samarth.edu.in, upload their required document and pay 1,000 and this Registration shall be applicable throughout counseling cycle.

Choice Filling (22–25 June 2026): After registration closes and document verification is complete, the choice filling window opens. Candidates log in and fill preferred college-branch combinations in order of priority. Choices must be locked before 25 June 2026. Unlocked preferences are not processed.

Allotment: Seats are allotted strictly on merit (JEE Main 2026 rank for B.Tech), locked preferences, and category-wise availability. Once allotted, no change in college or branch is permitted.

Freeze / Float: After each allotment, candidates must choose between Freeze (confirm current seat), Float (retain seat, attempt upgrade in next round), or Withdrawal. Round 3 choice locking (6–7 July) is the final edit, those choices apply to all further rounds including internal sliding.

Physical Reporting (14–16 July 2026): All freeze candidates must report to the allotted institute with original documents within this window. Non-reporting results in automatic seat cancellation with no refund.

Special Rounds (19 July – 3 August 2026): Two special rounds fill remaining vacant seats. Candidates who withdrew from earlier rounds and new OSGE candidates (outside-UP, non-UP domicile parents) can also register for Special Rounds. No refund is applicable in Special Rounds.
