UPTAC Counselling Round 1 date 2026 contains the most important part of the entire counseling process that includes the Registration, Verification of documents, Choice filling and the Seat allotment.

Registration for Round 1 opened on 25 May 2026 and closed on 15 June 2026 at https://uptac.samarth.edu.in. Choice filling ran from 22–25 June 2026, and Round 1 allotment was published on 27 June 2026. This round is exclusively for JEE Main 2026 qualified candidates who studied in UP or are domicile of UP.

What Happens in Each Stage of Round 1

Registration (25 May – 15 June 2026): One-time window for the entire regular counselling cycle. Create account, complete mandatory APAAR ID verification via DigiLocker, fill personal and academic details, upload documents, pay Rs.1,000 fee. JEE Main data is auto-fetched using the Application Number, no manual rank entry. Registration is not available in Round 2, 3, or 4.

Document Verification (28 May – 20 June 2026): After registration, uploaded documents go through online verification. If queries are raised, candidates must respond through the portal by 20 June 2026. Unresolved queries can affect eligibility for choice filling.

Choice Filling (22–25 June 2026): The most critical stage. Log in, access the seat matrix available by 15 June 2026, search for college-branch combinations, add in priority order, most preferred first, and lock before 25 June 2026. Unlocked preferences are completely ignored. Fill 25 to 35 choices across government and private colleges for the best outcome. Choices placed at the top carry no risk, the system moves to the next preference automatically if a higher one is unavailable.

Round 1 Allotment (27 June 2026): Seats allotted strictly on JEE Main 2026 rank, locked preferences, and category-wise availability. Allotment letter available for download from the dashboard immediately after publication.

Seat Confirmation + Freeze/Float (27–29 June 2026): Pay Rs.20,000 or Rs.12,000 for government college allotments and respond with Freeze (confirm seat) or Float (retain seat, attempt upgrade in Round 2). Both must be done within 29 June 2026. Physical reporting for all freeze candidates is 14–16 July 2026.
