What Becomes Available on the Start Date
When UPTAC counselling 2026 begin is an important date not just for registration itself. The same three resources become available for candidate’s use.
- Information Brochure: a comprehensive reference book to the eligibility criteria for UPTAC 2026 for all courses, the reservation rules, the required formats of certificates (Appendix A) eligibility subjects (Appendix B), the fees, and the full schedule of the counselling. All candidates must read this before filling up the registration form.
- Seat Matrix: this gives all available seats in all affiliated colleges, sectioned by course, branch, category and will serve as the primary reference document for making wise choices. This is usually published before the choice filling begins.
- Registration portal: the application forms become available online, enabling the candidates to make a login, fill out personal and academic data, upload documents and also pay the 1,000 application fee.
When does UPTAC Counselling Start
AKTU do not release any information about start date unless they verify the required event:
- JEE Main 2026 session 2 declared by NTA
- CUET UG and CUET PG 2026 declared.
- NATA 2026 by Council of Architecture is declared.
- AKTU has verify all the affiliated colleges’ seat matrix.
- Vice Chancellor chaired CAB (Central Admission Board) finalize and approve the schedule of the counseling.
Once all above situation occurred the notice regarding the schedule with start date published on AKTU website and UPTAC portal.
How to Prepare Before the Start Date
- Get your documents: JEE Main score card, 10th and 12th certificates, domicile certificate and category certificate(s). The OBC certificate needs to be after 01.04.2026 with the creamy layer certificate. EWS certificates are supposed to be valid for the year 2026-27. Keep these documents handy on Day 1, so that registration does not need to wait for the document collection.
- Scan documents properly: You are expected to upload scanned photos and signatures within certain limits of file size and type. Blurred photos will cause your rejection immediately. Get this ready beforehand.
- Prepare shortlisted colleges and branches: Previous years cutoffs may give a clear picture as to which colleges your ranks would likely lead you to. Prepare an initial list of 25-35 options for effective choice filling.
- Analyze your domicile and category status: for the students who were not educated in Uttar Pradesh and who have parents residing in UP must bring parent’s domicile certificate. Sub-category benefits will have specific certificates, get them in hand prior to commencement of the procedure.
