Tamil Nadu NEET UG registration 2026 is entirely online, and there is no provision to make changes to any particulars once the application form is submitted. The steps below summarise the process:
- Visit the official website, www.tnmedicalselection.org, and read the prospectus carefully with your parent/guardian before starting the application.
- Log in and fill in all mandatory fields, including personal details, parent/guardian details, address, nativity, community, NEET details, qualifying examination details and marks.
- Upload the required documents in PDF format, including the NEET admit card, mark sheets, transfer certificate, community and nativity certificates, and any special category form, as applicable.
- Upload your photograph (same as used in the NEET UG 2026 application) and your signature in running handwriting, along with a left thumb impression scan.

Choice Filling and Choice Locking Process
Choice filling for Tamil Nadu NEET Counselling choice filling opens once the schedule for a round is notified on the official website, and candidates fill and lock their preferences within the stipulated date and time.
- Log in to www.tnmedicalselection.org using your registered credentials once the round’s schedule opens.
- Fill your college and course preferences in order of priority.
- Candidates can edit their choices before locking, but once a candidate locks the choices during online counselling, they cannot be changed later.
- Submit and lock your choices within the notified choice filling and locking window for that round.
- Once seat allotment is processed, download the provisional allotment order after paying the applicable tuition fee.
Candidates who registered for Round 1 and did not get any seat, or who did not report after being allotted a seat, are not required to register again for Round 2. Fresh registration in Round 2 is permitted only for candidates who did not register in Round 1, with full payment of fees.
If a candidate is upgraded in Round 2, the Round 1 seat is relinquished and shown as a virtual vacancy, which becomes a real vacancy only if the Round 1 candidate actually vacates it. Once a candidate joins the Round 3 seat, they cannot upgrade or resign from it. Mutual transfer or individual request for transfer of college is not permitted under any circumstances.

If adequate eligible candidates are not available under SCA (Arunthathiyar), remaining seats are filled by candidates from the SC community other than Arunthathiyar, and vice versa. Any remaining unfilled ST seats are allotted to SC candidates as per merit. Unavailed seats in Special Categories (Bench Mark Disabilities, Sports, Ex-Servicemen) are added back to the General Category in Round 1 of counselling.

Selection Committee prepares the Tamil Nadu NEET UG merit list 2026, referred to as the Rank List, on the basis of NEET (UG) 2026 marks and the details furnished by candidates in their online application.
