Step 1 – Creating Profile

  • Navigate to the website dme.mponline.gov.in and click “Under Graduate Counselling (MBBS/BDS).”
  • Click on “Create Profile.”
  • Enter your NEET UG 2026 Roll Number, Date of Birth, and Secret Key.
  • Secret Key = 16-digit number, i.e., NEET Application Number + 0 + NEET Score (Example: If your Application No. is 2322123456890 and NEET Score is 358, your Secret Key = 2322123456890358)
  • Enter the Captcha and click “Create Profile”

Your basic NEET details will auto-populate on the screen.

Step 2 – Fill Contact and Bank Details

  • Enter your Mobile Number (this will be used for OTP and all future correspondence), Alternate Mobile Number, and Email ID

Madhya Pradesh NEET UG Counselling Process

The counseling process begins with the registration of the candidates in the official portal of DME MP (https://dme.mponline.gov.in). Following the completion of the registration process, the eligible candidates appear on the list called ‘State Merit List’. The next step is that of document verification, followed by choice filling and choice locking. Seat allotment is based on the choice filled by the candidates and their NEET ranks. This allotment happens via a computerized process.

Choice Filling and Locking

  • Log in to the Candidate Corner portal at dme.mponline.gov.in using your Roll Number of NEET UG 2026 and password.
  • Click on “Choice Filling” option and choose whether you want to take admissions in government colleges only or both government and private colleges.
  • Select your desired colleges from the complete list of colleges listed there and mark the checkbox against them.
  • Arrange the order of selection through “Move Up/Move Down” options.
  • Click on “Review Selected Preferences”, and then “Proceed to Next Step”.

NOTE: Registration fees are non-refundable. Security deposits will be refunded after the closure of admissions if the candidate joins the allotted seat or is not allotted any seat. Deposits will be forfeited if the candidate fails to join after allotment. For NRI candidates who do not join the mop-up allotted seat, a financial penalty of Rs.10 lakh will be deducted and reported to MCI/DCI.

Madhya Pradesh NEET PG Counselling Process

MP State Combined Postgraduate Course Counselling for MD/MS is carried out by DME MP through http://dme.mponline.gov.in in accordance with the guidelines given by the MP Chikitsa Shiksha Pravesh Niyam. The procedure consists of registration, state merit list preparation, choice filling, computerized seat allocation, and reporting to the allocated institute.

Merit List & Choice Filling

  • After registration closes, DME MP publishes the State Merit List on the portal, category-wise, based on NEET PG scores.
  • Registered candidates log in to the portal and fill their college and subject preferences (choice filling) in descending order of preference.
  • Seat allotment is done by a fully computerized process matching available seats with candidate preferences in order of NEET merit rank.
  • The candidate is offered the most preferred choice among those filled for which he/she is eligible and a seat is available.

Counselling Rounds

  • Round 1: Open to all registered and eligible candidates. Provision for upgradation (better option) to Round 2 is available.
  • Round 2: Open to candidates not allotted in Round 1 and those who opted for upgradation. Advance security deposit required before choice filling. Upgrade facility is also available in Round 2.
  • Mop-Up Round: Only for candidates NOT allotted in Round 1 or Round 2. Rs.2,00,000 advance security deposit required (Rs.10,00,000 for NRI). No upgradation facility available.
  • Stray Vacancy Round: Conducted after Mop-Up if seats remain vacant. Only candidates who received no allotment in any previous round are eligible.

Post Allotment Procedure

  • Download the Allotment Letter from your Candidate Corner on the portal.
  • Report to the allotted institute within the stipulated time frame as per the counselling schedule.
  • The institute’s Admission Committee will verify your original documents against Annexure-3 of the admission rules.
  • Pay the prescribed admission fee online through the portal as notified by the institute.
  • The Admission Letter (Pravesh Patra) is issued after successful document verification and fee payment.
  • Candidates admitted in Round 1 who opt for upgradation: their Round 1 admission stands automatically cancelled upon allotment in Round 2.

Seat Leaving & Penalty

  • Candidates admitted in Round 1 may leave their seat up to 2 days before Round 2 counselling begins by visiting their admitted college in person. No Seat Leaving Bond applies in this case; such candidates are eligible for Round 2.
  • Candidates who leave their admitted seat after Round 1 but beyond the prescribed date, or those admitted in Round 1/2 who vacate after Mop-Up commences, are liable to pay the Seat Leaving Bond amount.
  • For government college seats: Bond of Rs.30 lakh is applicable; for private medical college seats: full remaining course fee for the entire duration of the programme is payable to the institution.

Service Candidates (In-Service Doctors)

  • 30% of all PG degree seats in government and private medical colleges are reserved for in-service doctors employed under the state government who have served for a minimum of 3 years in rural/remote/difficult area postings.
  • Such candidates must obtain NOC from their employer before registering on the portal.
  • Service candidates who are selected and admitted must mandatorily serve for 5 years after completing the postgraduate programme. Non-compliance attracts a bond penalty of Rs.50 lakh.

  • Fresh Registration: Candidates who have not registered in Round-1 or those who need to re-register (due to resignation or non-reporting) must complete fresh registration and payment for Round-2.
  • Choice Filling: Fresh choice filling and locking must be done for Round-2.

STRAY VACANCY ROUND

  • Eligibility: Candidates who did not secure a seat in Round-1, Round-2, or Round-3 are eligible to participate in the Stray Vacancy Round.
  • Registration: Fresh registration and choice filling will be required for the Stray Vacancy Round. Choices from Round-3 will not be considered.
  • Exclusion: Candidates allotted a seat in Round-3 and did not report cannot participate in the Stray Vacancy Round.
  • Allotment Process: The Stray Vacancy Round will be conducted by the MCC for Deemed Universities. Seats will be allotted online via a software system.
  • Joining the Allotted Seat: Candidates allotted a seat in the Stray Round must report to the college/institute. Failure to do so will result in debarment from future NEET PG examinations and forfeiture of the security deposit.
