Kerala NEET PG counselling 2026 is conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala, for admission to MD/MS (PG degree) courses. CEE Kerala handles State Quota seats in government medical colleges and the Regional Cancer Centre (RCC), Thiruvananthapuram. It also handles all seats in non-government medical colleges, including Minority Quota and NRI Quota seats, through a common counselling process.
Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), under the Directorate General of Health Services, conducts counselling for All India Quota (AIQ) seats. Kerala runs a single-window Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) with three phases and a stray vacancy round. AIQ candidates who join Kerala government colleges are also covered by Kerala’s admission conditions, including the bond.
NEET PG 2026 results have been declared. Kerala PG medical admission process is about to begin, but the application dates and the seat distribution have not been announced.

All seats in non-government (self-financing) medical colleges are filled through common counselling by CEE Kerala. This includes Minority Quota and NRI Quota seats. The fee structure for these colleges will be issued before the allotment process. Check the NMC and KUHS websites for the recognition status of seats before taking admission.

10% of State Quota seats are set apart for government service doctors. See the Service Quota section below.

- Non-Keralite in-service doctors: They can apply under service quota.
- Age limits (service quota only): 49 years for Medical Education Service Quota. 47 years for Health Service and Insurance Medical Service Quota. Both are counted as on 31 December of the year the CEE notification is issued.
- PG Diploma holders: Holders of a 2-year PG Diploma in the same subject get a one-year reduction in course duration. The diploma pass certificate must be obtained on or before 30-04-2026.
Whether a seat is in a government or private college, the NEET PG qualifying percentile is the same. The fee and bond conditions differ.
Kerala NEET PG Counselling 2026 Reservation Policy
Kerala follows a community-based reservation in its State Quota. It is different from the OBC/EWS system used elsewhere. The 10% service quota is set apart first, and the remaining seats are distributed as below.
| Category | Reservation (State Quota) |
| SC | 8% |
| ST | 2% |
| Ezhava (EZ) | 8% |
| Other Backward Hindus (BH) | 7% |
| Muslim (MU) | 7% |
| Latin Catholic and Anglo-Indian (LA) | 3% |
| Other Backward Christians (BX) | 1% |
| Kudumbi (KU) | 1% |
| EWS (General category) | 10% |
| Service Quota | 10% |
| PwD | 5% horizontal |
The remaining seats form the General Merit Quota.
- SEBC: Together, EZ, MU, BH, LA, BX and KU make up the 27% SEBC reservation. Only the listed communities qualify, and candidates must not belong to the creamy layer.
- PwD: The 5% reservation is horizontal. It is worked out as sub-categories within each main category. AIQ and service quota seats are excluded.
- You need a disability of at least 40% and must meet NMC criteria.
- Indicate PwD status in the online application. No certificate is uploaded at this stage.
- A State Level Committee decides your eligibility and whether you are suitable for the course you choose.
- MCC guidelines require a valid UDID card and a self-attested affidavit.
- Special categories: One seat is for an Ex-Service candidate of Kerala origin. One seat is for a dependent of a Jawan killed in action (if none is available, a dependent of an ex-serviceman).
- Who does not get reservation: PIO/OCI candidates, and non-Keralite candidates with a Kerala MBBS, do not get reservation benefits.
- Unavailed seats
- Unfilled SC seats go to ST candidates, and the other way round. If both are unfilled, the seats go to OEC candidates and then to General Merit.
- Unfilled SEBC seats go to General Merit.
- Fee concession: The following candidates are exempted from fees, except in Minority and NRI seats.
- SC/ST candidates, and OEC candidates admitted on merit or reserved seats.
- Candidates from the Annexure II communities with family income up to Rs.6 lakh. Their community and income certificates are needed.
- Children of registered fishermen.
- Inmates of government homes such as Sree Chitra Home, Nirbhaya Home and Juvenile Homes.
Kerala NEET PG Counselling 2026 Service Quota
Service quota is for regular government doctors in Kerala. It has three streams, in the ratio 45:45:10.
| Stream | Who Can Apply |
| MESQ (Medical Education Service Quota) | Regular Lecturers in government medical colleges. Lecturers of IIMS Palakkad are included, subject to the final Supreme Court verdict |
| HSQ (Health Service Quota) | Medical Officers on regular service under Health Services |
| IMSQ (Insurance Medical Service Quota) | Medical Officers on regular service under Insurance Medical Services |
- You must have completed probation at the time the CEE notification is issued. Provisional service before regular appointment is not counted.
- Service candidates apply online and then forward the printout and documents to their Head of Department, not to the CEE office.
- Merit is based on NEET PG marks plus weightage, capped at 30% of marks obtained. The weightage is 1% per year for service, 2% per year for rural service, and 5% per year for difficult rural service.
- Candidates who have already done a PG degree under service quota are not eligible a second time. Those who have a PG degree or DNB in the same specialty are also not eligible.
- Selected candidates must join. If they do not join, or discontinue after the third allotment, they will not be considered for service quota in future.
- If no eligible candidate is available in MESQ, 20% of the vacant seats go to IMSQ and 80% to HSQ. Unavailed service seats go to General Merit.
