Critical Dates You Cannot Afford to Miss

Out of the entire JAC Chandigarh 2026, these are the deadlines that matter most:

Registration Last Date: If you miss this, you cannot participate in three regular rounds. You can still register before the Special Round, but you will compete for whatever seats remain after three rounds of allotment.

Choice Locking Deadline: If you do not lock choices manually, the last saved set is auto-locked at the deadline. If nothing was saved, you are not considered for allotment. Lock well before the deadline.

Seat Acceptance Fee Deadline (Rs. 40,000 – after each round’s allotment): This is the most critical deadline within any round. If you are allotted a seat and do not pay Rs. 40,000 within the window, your seat is automatically cancelled. You lose Rounds 2 and 3 eligibility but retain Special and Spot Round access.

Physical Reporting Deadline: All candidates who have paid Rs. 40,000 seat acceptance fee must physically report to the allotted institute. Not reporting leads to automatic seat cancellation.

Special Round Registration Last Date: Fresh candidates who missed the main rounds must register before this date. No fresh registrations after the Special Round has started.

Spot Round Advance Fee Deadline: Candidates who have not yet paid Rs. 40,000 must do so before filling choices in the Spot Round.

Withdrawal Deadline (Before Spot Round): If you want to withdraw your seat and get the Rs. 40,000 refunded, you must withdraw through the portal before the Spot Round. Withdrawals through phone or email are not accepted.

What JAC Chandigarh Counselling Dates Mean for Different Candidates

If you are a fresh candidate who missed all three regular rounds, your window is the Special Round. Registration opens again before it. Seats available may be limited but real opportunities exist especially in branches like Civil, Mechanical at CCET, or IT/ECE at UIET PUSSGRC.

If you are a candidate who paid the acceptance fee and physically reported but want a better branch, you can modify choices in the Special Round. You must include your current allotted option in your choice list.

If you are a candidate who withdrew in an earlier round, you can come back in the Special Round and Spot Round. All your earlier choices are wiped — fresh choice submission is mandatory.
