Engineering admission without donation की reality क्या है, यह सवाल हर साल हजारों parents और students पूछते हैं। JEE Main का result आते ही कई घरों में एक अजीब सी खामोशी छा जाती है। Rank उम्मीद के अनुसार नहीं आती, और उसके बाद जो चर्चा शुरू होती है वह अक्सर एक ही दिशा में जाती है। अब क्या होगा? क्या अच्छे engineering college के लिए donation देना पड़ेगा?
मुझे आज भी एक parent की बात याद है। पिछले साल counselling के समय एक पिता अपने बेटे के साथ मेरे office आए थे। उनका पहला सवाल यही था, “सर, सीधा बता दीजिए कितना donation लगेगा। अगर देना पड़े तो हम कोशिश कर लेंगे।”
मैंने उनसे पूछा, “आपको यह किसने बताया कि donation देना जरूरी है?”
उन्होंने कहा, “सब लोग यही कह रहे हैं। WhatsApp groups में भी यही बात चल रही है।”
अब सोचिए अगर आप उस पिता की जगह होते तो क्या सोचते। बेटे ने दो साल मेहनत की, coaching की, exam दिया। लेकिन result आने के बाद अगर हर तरफ से यही सुनाई दे कि बिना donation admission नहीं होगा, तो किसी भी parent का मन घबरा सकता है।
यही वह जगह है जहाँ सबसे ज्यादा भ्रम पैदा होता है। Engineering admission का असली सिस्टम समझे बिना लोग डर के आधार पर निर्णय लेने लगते हैं। सच्चाई थोड़ी अलग है। Admission का पूरा process counselling rules, rank, category और seat availability पर चलता है। लेकिन सही जानकारी तक पहुँचना आसान नहीं होता।

Engineering Admission System वास्तव में कैसे काम करता है
Engineering admission का official system merit और counselling process पर आधारित होता है। भारत में अधिकतर engineering colleges में admission centralized counselling के माध्यम से होता है।
यहाँ कुछ प्रमुख processes होते हैं:
- JEE Main exam
- JoSAA counselling
- CSAB rounds
- State engineering counselling
इन सभी processes का उद्देश्य एक ही होता है। Students को उनकी rank और preferences के अनुसार college allot करना।
लेकिन parents अक्सर यह समझ लेते हैं कि admission केवल rank से तय हो जाता है। असल में ऐसा नहीं है। Rank केवल एक factor है। इसके साथ कई और चीजें जुड़ी होती हैं:
- category
- home state quota
- branch preference

मैं counselling के दौरान अक्सर parents से कहता हूँ कि admission को lottery की तरह मत देखिए। यह एक structured process है। अगर इसे सही तरह से समझ लिया जाए तो कई options खुलते हैं।
Donation का Myth आखिर फैलता क्यों है
अब एक महत्वपूर्ण सवाल। अगर system merit based है तो donation का myth फैलता क्यों है?
इसके पीछे कई practical कारण हैं।
सबसे पहला कारण है incomplete information। Parents को counselling process की पूरी जानकारी नहीं होती।
दूसरा कारण है panic decision। Result आने के बाद parents जल्दी में कोई रास्ता ढूंढना चाहते हैं।
तीसरा कारण है market misinformation। कई लोग admission को business की तरह दिखाते हैं और डर का फायदा उठाते हैं।
मुझे याद है एक बार एक student ने बताया कि उसे किसी ने कहा था कि government college में admission के लिए भी donation देना पड़ेगा। जब हमने उसकी rank और profile देखी तो वह JoSAA counselling में अच्छे options के लिए eligible था।
अब सोचिए अगर वह student डर के कारण गलत decision ले लेता तो क्या होता।
इसलिए सबसे जरूरी है कि engineering admission को rumours के आधार पर नहीं बल्कि verified information के आधार पर समझा जाए।
Government Engineering Colleges के Real Options क्या होते हैं
Parents अक्सर engineering colleges को केवल दो categories में देखते हैं। Government college और private college।
लेकिन reality थोड़ी व्यापक है।
Engineering education में कई प्रकार के institutes होते हैं।
- NIT
- IIIT
- GFTI
- State Government Engineering Colleges
इन सभी institutes के admission routes अलग-अलग हो सकते हैं। कुछ national counselling से आते हैं और कुछ state counselling से।
उदाहरण के लिए कई state government colleges में admission state counselling के माध्यम से होता है। कई बार students केवल national counselling पर ध्यान देते हैं और state level options को ignore कर देते हैं।
अब सोचिए अगर किसी student की rank national institutes के लिए borderline हो लेकिन state counselling में अच्छे options हों, तो क्या होगा।
इसलिए engineering admission planning करते समय केवल एक counselling process को नहीं बल्कि पूरे ecosystem को समझना जरूरी है।
Counselling Strategy क्यों महत्वपूर्ण होती है
कई parents counselling को केवल form filling समझते हैं। लेकिन counselling वास्तव में decision strategy होती है।
Choice filling इसका सबसे महत्वपूर्ण हिस्सा है।
अगर choices सही तरीके से arrange नहीं की गईं तो seat allotment पर सीधा असर पड़ सकता है।
यहाँ एक साधारण उदाहरण समझिए।
मान लीजिए किसी student के पास 40 realistic college options हैं। अगर वह केवल 10 choices भरता है और बाकी ignore कर देता है, तो उसकी chances automatically कम हो सकते हैं।

यह सवाल लगभग हर parent पूछता है।
अगर rank बहुत अच्छी नहीं है तो क्या government engineering college का मौका खत्म हो जाता है?
इसका जवाब सीधा नहीं है।
कई cases में possibilities बन सकती हैं और कई cases में नहीं। यह पूरी तरह profile dependent होता है।
यहाँ कुछ factors महत्वपूर्ण होते हैं।

- branch flexibility
- counselling rounds
कुछ students later rounds में options पा लेते हैं। वहीं कुछ students को state counselling में अच्छे colleges मिल जाते हैं।
इसलिए केवल rank देखकर निष्कर्ष निकालना सही नहीं होता।
Parents अक्सर कौन सी गलतियाँ करते हैं
Counselling के दौरान कुछ common mistakes बार-बार देखने को मिलती हैं।
पहली गलती है misinformation पर भरोसा करना।
दूसरी गलती है panic decision लेना।
तीसरी गलती है counselling process को हल्के में लेना।
कई parents यह सोचते हैं कि counselling तो बस formal process है। लेकिन choice filling में छोटी सी गलती भी असर डाल सकती है।
