The Gujarat National Law University is dedicated in providing advance knowledge and spreading the awareness towards the law and legal processes and the role of students towards the nation development. The University adopts a three tier approach, at the state, national and international levels, in its legal education, research and training and extension in order to achieve capabilities to respond to the needs, expectations and aspirations of the academia and institutions of law-making, governance, economy, judiciary, legal profession, manufacturing, agriculture and service sector, and the civil society. The teaching methodology adopted by the University is Learner centric fulfilling and satisfying curriculum, pedagogy and evaluation rooted in the Research based teaching University model.

GNLU’s engagements with the institutions of law-making, governance and judiciary in the fields of law and interdisciplinary fields and institutional reforms is evolving and gradually making a mark. It aspires to become a leading and most sought after resource centre to aid and advice these institution at all levels. It envisages strategic engagements and collaborations between faculties, researchers, research centres and these institutions to contribute to the legal development within and outside the Country. Courses offered by Gujarat National Law University:

Undergraduate courses:-

• BA.LL.B. :-

The University offers 5 years integrated Hons. program i.e. B.A. LL.B, B.Com LL.B, B.B.A. LL.B, B.Sc. LL.B, B.S.W. LL.B.

The total number of seats in B.A. LL.B is 80 and the remaining undergraduate program has 25 seats each. The University follows the semester methodology to assess their students.

Postgraduate Courses:-

The Postgraduate Program (L.L.M.) is a One year program having two semesters. The total number of seats offered by the University is 60.

 

MBA in Financial Management and Business Law:

With the objective of creation and dissemination of specialized knowledge and skills in the above disciplines, GNLU initiated a two year full time residential MBA (Financial Management and Business Laws) programme to nurture managerial and legal acumen of the participants. The students opted for this course generally caters the multinational corporations, investment and banking houses, public sector undertakings, regulatory authorities and international organizations, etc.

 

Admissions & Eligibility Criteria:-

Eligibility for Admission in UG Programme:

• Successful clearance of HSC/ intermediate Examination (10+2) or its equivalent examination with not less than 45% marks in aggregate (40% in case of SC/ST)
• Candidate appearing in the qualifying examination can appear provisionally, subject to the production of necessary qualification papers before or at the time of admission.
• The Eligibility for seeking admission in the B.A., LL.B. (Hons.), B.B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) and B.S.W., LL.B. (Hons.) programme is H.S.C. or equivalent examination; for B.Com., LL.B. (Hons.) programme it is H.S.C. or equivalent examination in Science/Commerce and for B.Sc., LL.B. (Hons.) programme it is H.S.C. or equivalent examination in Science.
• The students seeking admissions in undergraduate program should qualify CLAT (Common law Admission Test)

 

Eligibility for Admission in PG (LLM) One Year Programme:

• B. degree/equivalent degree in law from a recognized University, with not less than 55% marks (50% in case of SC/ST students)
• Candidate appearing in the qualifying examination can appear provisionally, subject to the production of necessary qualification papers before or at the time of admission.
• The students seeking admissions in undergraduate program should qualify CLAT (Common law Admission Test)

 

Eligibility for Admission in PG MBA in Financial Management and Business Law Two Year Programme:

• The programme will be open to the graduates from any recognized university or institute with minimum qualification in/with commerce, management, law, arts, science and engineering except fine arts.
• Only Candidates who have appeared at Common Admission Test (CAT) 2018 conducted by IIMs/CMAT 2019/MAT (2018-2019) are eligible to apply.
• The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree, with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA (50% in case of the candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) category) awarded by any of the Universities incorporated by an act of the central or state legislature in India.
• The admission to the said course will be primarily based on Common Admission Test 2018 (CAT 2018) conducted by IIMs/CMAT 2019/MAT (2018-2019) followed by group discussion and personal interview to be conducted by GNLU.
