Government Polytechnic Unnao was established in the year 1984.
It is situated on National Highway – 25 at a distance of 5 km. from Unnao Jn. Railway station.
The present campus measured 7 Acres of land.
The institution is running 5 courses in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application, Post Graduate Diploma in Hardware and Networking, Post Graduate Diploma in Accountancy with intake of 60 students in each.
Government Polytechnic Unnao is approved by AICTE Govt. of India and affiliated to Board of Technical Education Uttar Pradesh (BTEUP).
The College has fully furnished air-conditioned Computer Lab equipped with Broadband Internet facility and video projection facility.

The college has one unit of N.S.s. of 50 students who are taking an active part for making awareness about the social obligation among youth.
One day and special 10 day camp have been arranged villages, in which each day was dedicated for a special cause, which includes awareness about General health, AIDS awareness camps, Pulse Polio Campaign, Family planning program, Literacy campaign, Removal of social evils and pollution control awareness, Plantation and new development in agriculture.
This institute is one of the oldest institutions of UP established in 1984.
