Govt. Polytechnic, Gaya was established by the act of Govt. of Bihar in the year 1960, constituted to work under Department of Science and Technology.

Govt. Polytechnic, Gaya is situated at the place of enlightenment of “Lord Gautam Buddha” and is a holy place where footmarks of “Lord Vishnu” is placed in the sacred “Vishnu Pad Mandir”.

Gaya presently offers diploma courses in five streams of engineering, civil engineering, Computer science and engineering, Electrical Engg. Electronics Engg. and Mechanical Engg. And also some vocational courses for employment generation such as IRG, CDTP, and women industrial school.
