IPU B.Tech Counselling Registration 2026 is the first and foremost process that needs to be completed by all the engineering aspiring candidates, to be eligible to appear for GGSIPU’s B.Tech seat allotment process for academic session 2026-27.
It’s a completely online process which is held at the official admission portal https://ipu.admissions.nic.in and the registrations are initiated soon after the declaration of JEE Main 2026 results. There is no option for offline application in case of the B.Tech courses at the IPU, and each and every process, be it of registration, seat confirmation, all is conducted through the admission portal.
All admissions are based on JEE Main 2026 Paper 1 merit. So before you begin registration, you must have a valid JEE Main 2026 score in hand. Without it, you cannot complete the application.
This article covers the complete IPU B.Tech Counselling Registration Process 2026, what to keep ready, step-by-step instructions, fee details, and the critical points candidates miss.
Before You Start Registration – What to Keep Ready
Starting registration without having everything ready leads to errors, and errors in the application form require you to physically visit the Facilitation Counter at the university campus. Save that trip by preparing everything in advance.
Documents and information you need before starting:
- JEE Main 2026 Admit Card (Roll Number and Application Number)
- JEE Main 2026 Score Card (rank and score)
- Class X Certificate and Marksheet (for date of birth)
- Class XII Marksheet (PCM marks – must have minimum 55% aggregate)
- Aadhar Card or any valid photo identity proof
- Category Certificate (SC / ST / OBC NCL / EWS) – if applicable
- PwD / Disability Certificate – if applicable
- Defence / Ex-Servicemen Certificate – if applicable
- Active mobile number (used for OTP verification)
- Valid email address (used for all portal communications)
- Scanned passport-size photograph (as per portal specifications)
- Debit Card / Credit Card / Net Banking / UPI for application fee payment
Keep all document scans ready before you begin. Uploading at the last minute under time pressure leads to blurry or incorrectly oriented files, which then create problems at document verification.

Important Rules During Registration

In case, any information is found false or wrong at any stage, the admission will stand cancelled.
- Only Indian / OCI / Nepal citizens are eligible for admission through this registration process. Foreign nationals must contact the Office of International Affairs at GGSIPU separately.
- One registration per candidate. Do not create multiple registrations. If you face an issue with your registration, resolve it through the Facilitation Counter, do not create a second account.
- Name must match Class X certificate. GGSIPU uses Class X records as the base reference for name and date of birth. Any discrepancy between your application name and Class X certificate will be flagged during verification.
- Check your JEE Main roll no & Rank very carefully as an incorrect entry can lead to difficulties in merit list preparation and during document verification. Verify your roll no and rank from your JEE main hall ticket and score card.
