Registration Window – What You Need to Know
The registration window is your only chance to enter the JAC Delhi 2026 system. Once it closes, you cannot register again, the system will not allow it. In 2025, the window was open from May 21 to June 2. A second opportunity was given on June 19 (single day) only for candidates who had already registered but wanted to edit their choices.
So, if you miss the registration window entirely, there is no second chance. This is why knowing the JAC Delhi 2026 dates and acting early is absolutely critical.
Choice Filling Window – Don’t Wait Till the Last Day
Choice filling runs simultaneously with registration. You can add, rearrange, and remove choices during this period. Choices are locked automatically once the registration period closes. After that, a single-day choice editing window is provided after Round 1 results, but only for registered candidates.
A very common mistake students make is waiting till the last day to fill choices. Website traffic is highest on the last day and technical issues can occur. Start filling choices from day one and keep updating them as you research cutoffs.
4 Counselling Rounds How They Work
JAC Delhi 2026 will have 4 regular counselling rounds. After each round, candidates who are allotted a seat have to pay the acceptance fee and report physically (for Round 1). In subsequent rounds, only those who are newly allotted, upgraded, or had their admission cancelled in the previous round need to act.
Candidates who keep their seat on Float are automatically considered for upgradation in the next round. Those who Freeze their seat opt out of upgradation permanently.
Spot Round – Last Opportunity
After all 4 rounds and a post-Round 4 upgradation process, a Spot Round may be conducted if seats remain vacant. This is open to registered candidates who did not get a seat in any regular round, or whose admission was cancelled. The Spot Round schedule will be released separately on the JAC Delhi website.
Key Dates-Related Rules You Should Not Miss
- Registration is allowed only once. No second registration window exists during the admission cycle.
- The single-day choice editing window after Round 1 is available only for already-registered candidates.
- Seat Acceptance Fee payment must be made strictly within the window specified for each round. Late payment = automatic seat cancellation.
- Physical reporting is mandatory in Round 1. If you skip it, your seat is cancelled even if you paid the fee.
- Candidates who get upgraded in Round 2 onwards do not need to report physically again.
