Delhi NEET PG Counselling 2026: DU and GGSIPU State Quota Process, Eligibility, Fees, Bond and Admission Guide

Delhi NEET PG Counselling 2026 is the admission process for MD, MS and PG Diploma seats in the medical colleges that are affiliated to two universities, the University of Delhi (DU) and Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU). Admission is based fully on your NEET PG 2026 rank.

In both universities, 50% of the PG seats go to the All India Quota and the other 50% go to the state quota. All India Quota (50%) is open to every NEET PG 2026 qualified candidate in India. Delhi University Quota (50% of DU seats) is only for candidates who passed the final MBBS from the University of Delhi. GGSIP University Quota (50% of GGSIPU seats) is only for MBBS graduates of GGSIPU.

Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), DGHS, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, conducts the online counselling for the All India Quota and for both state quotas. After your seat is allotted, DU and GGSIPU take over for document verification, university registration, fee payment and joining.

Seats at Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalaya, a Delhi Government college affiliated to GGSIPU, are allotted on a 200 point roster and not through MCC.

Delhi NEET PG Counselling 2026 Quotas

The quota rules are the most important part of Delhi NEET PG Counselling 2026.

QuotaShare of Seats

  • All India Quota. These seats are filled on the basis of the NEET PG entrance test through MCC. Any eligible candidate from any state can take them.
  • Delhi University Quota. This is the state quota of DU. MCC conducts counselling for it. Candidates need the final MBBS from the University of Delhi. If DU quota seats stay vacant after Round 1, Round 2 and the Mop-up Round, they are offered to all candidates taking part in the All India Quota during the stray vacancy round.
  • GGSIP University Quota. These seats are reserved only for GGSIPU MBBS graduates. The university uses a 200 point roster. It starts each year from the point where the previous year’s admission ended.

Role of DU and GGSIPU. Both universities handle the stage after allotment, which includes verification, university registration, fees, medical examination and joining.

  • In-service candidates need an NOC from the employer, along with study leave or relieving. No candidate can join without it. It is better to start this process as soon as the NEET PG result is out.
  • Candidates who got a PG degree seat in counselling during 2023, 2024 or 2025, or a PG diploma seat in 2024 or 2025, are not eligible in 2026 in these cases, they surrendered the seat against MCC rules after joining, they left the course before completion, or the university cancelled their admission for poor performance, misconduct or indiscipline.

Delhi NEET PG Counselling 2026 Counselling Process

The process has two stages and two sets of authorities. MCC runs stage one and the university runs stage two.

  • Join the college by the stipulated date.
  • If you want a different seat, take part in the next round as per MCC rules.
  • After the rounds, vacant seats go to the stray vacancy round.

Delhi University Quota Process

This part is only for candidates who got a seat in a DU affiliated college through MCC.

  • MCC allots the seat. Only candidates allotted seats in DU affiliated colleges register on the DU portal.
  • Visit the college for verification of documents and other formalities. Registration on the DU portal is done after this verification.
  • Register at https://fmsc.du.ac.in/ with your NEET PG 2026 roll number and date of birth. Upload documents, photograph and signature. Pay the registration fee and the first year annual fee online.
  • Take a printout of the registration form. Carry it with the allotment letter, original certificates and two sets of self-attested photocopies of all documents.
  • Selected candidates appear before a medical board at the assigned institution on the date given. The cost is borne by the candidate. A candidate found medically unfit is not allowed to join and the admission is cancelled. Such a candidate can collect the original certificates from the college.
  • At the time of joining, submit the following in the assigned college.
  • Rs.25,000 security deposit.
  • Enrolment with University of Delhi, done by the college head on payment of the prescribed fee. For any problem with the enrolment number, contact the Academic Branch, University of Delhi South Campus.
  • NOC and study leave or relieving order, for in-service candidates.
  • Rs.10 lakh surety bond with two sureties.
  • After joining, the college submits the joining report to the Faculty of Medical Sciences through the Head of the college. The provisional admission is not valid if you do not complete the requirements.
  • Register with Delhi Medical Council, National Dental Commission or Dental Council of India within three months of joining. If you fail, the admission is cancelled.
  • The Head of the Department sends a report on performance between 4 and 6 months after the course starts. If it is satisfactory, the provisional admission is confirmed. If not, the admission is cancelled and the candidate is informed within one month of the report.

GGSIP University Quota Process

This part is for candidates who passed MBBS from GGSIPU and want a seat under the GGSIP University Quota. These seats are filled strictly on NEET PG 2026 merit through the 200 point roster.

  • Qualify NEET PG 2026 and register on the MCC portal. All qualified candidates also present themselves in person for registration for counselling participation and verification of documents, on the date and time notified by the university. This registration is valid for both rounds. Without it, you cannot take part in either round.
  • GGSIPU MBBS graduates who have qualified NEET PG 2026 are called in order of merit. Seats are allotted on the 200 point roster. The specific roster point decides which category candidate is called, and all seats at that point are offered in all the institutes. The roster starts from the next point after last year’s closing point.
  • A roster point cannot stay blank, so conversion happens in the first round itself. Unfilled ST seats go to SC and the other way round. Only after that do the reserved seats become general. OBC seats become general only after the OBC merit list is exhausted. A seat is converted only after all eligible candidates have been offered that seat.
  • The second round starts by counting vacant seats. These come from three sources: withdrawals by the stipulated date in the prescribed form, candidates who paid the fee and reported at the college but did not join by the stipulated date, and seats left unallotted in the first round. The colleges give the list of non-joining candidates in writing by the date set by the university.
  • Vacancies are first offered to eligible candidates of the same category, in merit order, till all eligible candidates of that category are exhausted. After this, the remaining seats are filled by registered candidates who did not take a seat in the first round, including those who registered but were absent.
  • The resulting vacant seats are then filled by allowing all NEET PG 2026 qualified candidates to take part in merit order. This includes candidates who already took a seat in the state quota, whether they reported or not. The roster moves from the point where the earlier step closed, and no rank is violated. This also absorbs any extra seat intake the university adds.
  • After allotment, candidates complete document verification at the college, pay the fee and join. Every admission is provisional and subject to medical fitness and all eligibility conditions. The new student must report for the medical examination immediately after admission. The college head sends the joining report to the Director In-charge (Admissions), GGSIPU, within the stipulated time.
  • Every admitted student follows the university’s disciplinary rules. The course is full time, so no private practice or part-time job is allowed. The admission is terminated if the student is absent without permission.

  • Check which colleges and courses are available in DU and GGSIPU and how many seats each has.
  • If you are a DU graduate, include DU quota seats. If you are a GGSIPU graduate, include GGSIP University Quota seats. All candidates can pick All India Quota seats.
  • Put the course and college you want most at the top. MCC goes down your list in order.
  • A short list can leave you with no seat.
  • Read the bond and fee conditions of each college before locking.
  • Lock your choices before the deadline and keep a copy for reference.

A reserved category candidate who gets a seat on open merit may be given the unreserved seat, but only if it comes higher in the candidate’s own preference order than the reserved seat.
