Kerala NEET PG Counselling 2026: Dates, Registration, Eligibility, Fees, Quota and Process

Kerala NEET PG counselling 2026 is conducted by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala, for admission to MD/MS (PG degree) courses. CEE Kerala handles State Quota seats in government medical colleges and the Regional Cancer Centre (RCC), Thiruvananthapuram. It also handles all seats in non-government medical colleges, including Minority Quota and NRI Quota seats, through a common counselling process.

Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), under the Directorate General of Health Services, conducts counselling for All India Quota (AIQ) seats. Kerala runs a single-window Centralized Allotment Process (CAP) with three phases and a stray vacancy round. AIQ candidates who join Kerala government colleges are also covered by Kerala’s admission conditions, including the bond.

NEET PG 2026 results have been declared. Kerala PG medical admission process is about to begin, but the application dates and the seat distribution have not been announced.

Kerala NEET PG Counselling 2026 Quotas

All India Quota (AIQ)

MCC conducts AIQ counselling. Kerala’s conditions apply to AIQ candidates who take admission in Kerala government colleges, including the bond. The number of AIQ seats in Kerala has not been announced.

State Quota

CEE Kerala conducts State Quota counselling for:

  • State Quota seats in government medical colleges
  • State Quota seats at RCC Thiruvananthapuram

Selection is purely from the Kerala rank list and category lists. The seat distribution between AIQ and State Quota has not been released yet. This section will be updated once the official details are announced.

Non-government colleges

All seats in non-government (self-financing) medical colleges are filled through common counselling by CEE Kerala. This includes Minority Quota and NRI Quota seats. The fee structure for these colleges will be issued before the allotment process. Check the NMC and KUHS websites for the recognition status of seats before taking admission.

Service Quota

10% of State Quota seats are set apart for government service doctors. See the Service Quota section below.

NRI Quota

An applicant who depends on one of the following, working abroad, can apply under NRI Quota:

  • Father or mother
  • Brother or sister (including first cousins)
  • Husband or wife
  • Brother or sister (including first cousins) of father or mother
  • Half brother or half sister

Kerala NEET PG Counselling 2026 Reservation Policy

Kerala follows a community-based reservation in its State Quota. It is different from the OBC/EWS system used elsewhere. The 10% service quota is set apart first, and the remaining seats are distributed as below.

CategoryReservation (State Quota)
SC8%
ST2%
Ezhava (EZ)8%
Other Backward Hindus (BH)7%
Muslim (MU)7%
Latin Catholic and Anglo-Indian (LA)3%
Other Backward Christians (BX)1%

EWS (General category)10%

The remaining seats form the General Merit Quota.

  • SEBC: Together, EZ, MU, BH, LA, BX and KU make up the 27% SEBC reservation. Only the listed communities qualify, and candidates must not belong to the creamy layer.
  • PwD: The 5% reservation is horizontal. It is worked out as sub-categories within each main category. AIQ and service quota seats are excluded.
  • You need a disability of at least 40% and must meet NMC criteria.
  • Indicate PwD status in the online application. No certificate is uploaded at this stage.
  • A State Level Committee decides your eligibility and whether you are suitable for the course you choose.
  • MCC guidelines require a valid UDID card and a self-attested affidavit.
  • Special categories: One seat is for an Ex-Service candidate of Kerala origin. One seat is for a dependent of a Jawan killed in action (if none is available, a dependent of an ex-serviceman).
  • Who does not get reservation: PIO/OCI candidates, and non-Keralite candidates with a Kerala MBBS, do not get reservation benefits.
  • Unavailed seats
  • Unfilled SC seats go to ST candidates, and the other way round. If both are unfilled, the seats go to OEC candidates and then to General Merit.
  • Unfilled SEBC seats go to General Merit.
  • Fee concession: The following candidates are exempted from fees, except in Minority and NRI seats.

  • Open the “Option Registration” tab. The list of Course-College-Fee combinations will appear.
  • Search by college or specialty using the filter. Check the seat matrix for category-wise seats.

  • Download the allotment memo from the CEE Kerala website. It shows your course, college and fee.
  • Report to the allotted college within the date set by CEE. No extension is given.
  • Get your documents verified. The Principal personally checks your eligibility. A candidate who does not meet the conditions is not admitted, even with an allotment.
  • Pay the tuition fee shown in the memo, plus the university fee, at the college.
  • Submit the original documents and the required undertakings.
  • Execute the bonds within 7 days of admission.
  • Join the course. The 3-year course counts from the date the first candidate joined the programme.

  • You want to keep the seat: Join and pay the fee. If you do not want an upgrade, do not confirm options in Phase 2.
  • You want to go to the next round or an upgrade: Keep higher-preference options and confirm them in Phase 2. If a better seat is allotted, your previous admission is cancelled, whether you accept the new seat or not. You are bound to accept an allotment from any option you retain.
  • You do not want to join: If you do not join the allotted seat, you lose the allotment and all your options. In Phase 3, you also lose the registration fee.
  • You want to resign after joining: Quitting a joined seat can cost you further rounds. The exact result depends on the phase. See the Bond Policy section for the penalties in later rounds.
