MCC NEET PG Counselling 2026 Counselling Process

This year MCC has introduced a Freeze and Float system for all rounds.

  • Freeze candidates are satisfied with their seat and do not want to upgrade. They report physically at the allotted institute to join.
  • Float candidates want to upgrade in the next round. They give willingness online, upload documents and do not need to visit the college.

MCC NEET PG Counselling Process steps are:

  • Qualify in NEET PG 2026.
  • Register online and pay the registration fee and security deposit.
  • Fill and lock choices within the schedule.
  • Seat allotment is done by MCC based on merit and your choices.
  • MCC first uploads a provisional result, then the final result. The provisional result is only indicative. Do not book tickets until you receive the final allotment letter.
  • Choose Freeze or Float if a seat is allotted.
  • Upload documents on the MCC portal. This is a one-time upload for all rounds. Do it within 2 to 3 days of the final allotment so you have time to fix any query raised by the institute.
  • Join or get verified. Freeze candidates report to the college. Float candidates are verified online by the institute’s nodal officer.
  • Float candidates with confirmed provisional seats become eligible for the next round.
  • After Round 3, Reporting is mandatory for all Round 3 allottees and for Float candidates of Round 1 and Round 2 who did not get an upgrade.
  • Stray Vacancy Round for the remaining candidates.

If a seat is not allotted in a round, you become eligible for the next round as per its criteria.

MCC NEET PG Counselling 2026 Choice Filling

Choice filling decides which seat you get. Allotment is done strictly on merit and the order of your choices.

  • You can fill new choices in each round.
  • You can enter as many as you want, in order of preference. It is advisable to fill around 30 to 40 choices.
  • Fee, stipend, bond and service conditions are provided by colleges and can differ widely. MCC takes no responsibility for them. Some AIQ and Deemed colleges have high fees, so confirm with the college.
  • Check the seat matrix and prepare a tentative list before entering choices.
  • You can add, delete and reorder choices until you lock them.
  • If you do not lock, choices are locked automatically at the notified time. Locked choices cannot be changed, and MCC cannot unlock them. Lock early and take a printout from the “Print Lock Choice” link.
  • Some categories shown in Round 1 are only clear-cut vacancies. In Round 2, vacancies are shown as clear-cut vacancies and virtual vacancies, which are seats of Round 1 allottees who opted to upgrade.

Previous-year allotment results are available in the Archives section of the MCC website. They are only indicative and do not guarantee anything for 2026.

MCC NEET PG Counselling 2026 Admission Process

  • Download the allotment letter from the MCC website after the final result.
  • Choose Freeze or Float.
  • Upload documents on the MCC portal.
  • Freeze candidates: report physically at the allotted institute, submit documents for physical verification and pay the admission fee. If documents are valid, admission is confirmed. If there is a discrepancy, admission is cancelled.
  • Float candidates: the institute verifies uploaded documents online. If there are queries, re-upload corrected documents quickly. If documents are fine, your seat is provisionally confirmed and you become eligible for the next round. If there is a discrepancy, the seat is cancelled, and you can still join the next round as per criteria.
  • Join as early as possible, some colleges take 2 to 3 days for formalities. Do not wait for the last day.

Admission and resignation are only valid when done online through the MCC portal by the college. Offline admission or resignation is not accepted. Colleges retain original documents and release them only on upgrade or resignation.

Transaction fees or service fees deducted by colleges after an upgrade or resignation are a matter between you and the college. Check this before joining.

MCC NEET PG Counselling 2026 Seat Allotment

Seats are allotted by software, so the process is automatic and fully online. The system checks candidates in order of rank. For each candidate it looks at the choices in the order entered and allots the first seat available in that candidate’s category. Reservation and the roster decide how seats are distributed among categories.

MCC first publishes a provisional result for candidates and colleges to check. After resolving discrepancies, it publishes the final result and allotment letter. All allotments are provisional until the college verifies your documents.
